| The Eames Era – Could be anything Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Can anyone make out what the guy is saying in the background towards the end of the song? All I can catch is "You say, I'm exaggerated I know I will be exonerated." |

| Joan Jett – Love Is All Around Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
These are all the lyrics, but the first verse and chorus repeat at the end: Who can turn the world on with her smile? Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Well it's you girl, and you should know it With each glance and every little movement you show it Love is all around, no need to fake it. You can have the town, why don't you take it. You're gonna make it after all How will you make it on your own? This world is awfully big And girl this time your all alone But it's time you started living It's time you let someone else do some giving Love is all around, no need to fake it. You can have the town, why don't you take it. You're gonna make it after all, You're gonna make it after all Your the one most likely to succeed Just be sure to keep your head Cause girl you know that's all you need Everyone around you adores you Don't give up the world is waiting for you Love is all around, no need to waste it. You can have the town, why don't you take it. You're gonna make it after all, You're gonna make it after all |

| Jens Lekman – Maple Leaves Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Jens Lekman is from a suburb in the Gothenburg Municipality, so maybe this is based on real events. I think other's interpretation of the singer having these rose tinted glasses on life and the harsh tone of the first verse play into the idea that he's a suburban boy in the big city. The girl with image issues might have shattered his image of a nicer, more positive world. "that she says the dreamer just make-believe" Also, I'm pretty sure this line is actually: "that she says that we were just make believe" |

| Eisley – I Wasn't Prepared Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The song can easily apply to death, missing a dead loved one that you didn't expect to die. You want to see them so much, you command the bees that visit you to trace their resemblance in pollen. Wikipedia also just told me that bees were said in ancient Aegean cultures to be bridges between our world and the underworld. So, maybe the bees visiting is a sign of a loved one's passing? |

| Eisley – Sea King Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Whenever I hear this song, I always picture the Sea King as a sort of 1950s surfer bum that's the Big Kahuna of his circle. He's so caught up in being King of the Sea and his little accomplishments that he never does much else. I think the singer is someone who truly loves him but can't stand being a vagrant anymore, wanting a real life and real love. So she leaves the ocean scene, hoping one day he'll realize she's gone and leave to look for her (and find reality along the way). ...Or maybe she's in love with a mermaid? |

| Joseph Arthur – In The Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this song, though it easily applies to a romantic relationship, can be applied to a lot more. For example, it could be talking about two friends who are at a cross roads in lofe and growing apart. They fight and maybe get a little too honest {as in "When you showed me myself, I became someone else"}. One friend feels so bad that they fall down on their knees and ask for sympathy, and later the other friends wonders if /anyone/ can get everything to work out {I'm not even sure, If there is anyone who is in the sun}. In the end, they wish each other well, even if they can't fix the damage they've both done. Or you could go with the more religious overtones of looking for eternal salvation, repetence, and purpose. |
