Noisettes – Sister Rosetta (Capture The Spirit) Lyrics 18 years ago
This is about her dog rosetta that she kept in a cage. (Hence first line, "She's a caged animal"). She is frustrated with the animal's inferior domestication, ("And if I was you, I'd use the loo"), ("Left your scent on my pillow").
She also mentions the dog's friends on their local council estate, "Tell your A.S.B.O. friend," which she obviously is unimpressed with.
There is obviously a typo in the 3rd fromlast and last paragraph, where 'troubadour' should be replaced with labrador.
I hope this clears up any haziness about the true meaning behind this wonderful ballad.
