This song is amazing, I'm suprised noones commented it. The meaning is pretty self explanitory. It's about an probably ex-girlfriend. They've moved on, but he still thinks about her "every now and then" He knows his life and the woman hes with are what he needs and are perfect, but he still sometimes thinks about his ex and the things that remind him of her. |

I'm really not that religions, and even though I knew Switchfoot was a Christian band, I never realized this song could be about God. Looking at it again, I see where everyone's coming from with that. But it could also be looked at from a non-religions standpoint, and is a great love song. If you look at it in a different way, hes on fire when she speaks etc. It works out great both ways which is amazing song writing talent. The background music is great. So are the lyrics.
