I dunno. I interpretted this song relating to a platonic relationship. But maybe thats cuz i find myself in such a situation in which a female friend always tells me she "loves me" and that "im her best friend" yet i feel like she literally only hangs out with me when no one else is around and since (as in the 4th line) she goes out drinking and clubbing several times a week while i dont even get invited along! |

I dont agree with Silver. From the 1st lines u can see hes telling a friend, that he has fallen in love with her (something i think we all can relate to). The fact that hes "ordinary" is part of his apolagy to her in the sense that: hes just human, he knows he shouldnt express his feelings and ruin a friendship, especially as he points out, she doesnt want that [...admit what shes been afraid of... ...i know this is an unpleasant suprise...]. But he cant help the way he feels, and he gives in to them as an "ordinary" person would. |
