this is a great example of post modernism.... many thought once the bible was translared into english (and other languages) that there would be no disputes about its meaning.... everyone would be able to read and fully understand the word of god.... but suddenly this opened the door to a vast amount of enterpretations.... that's because to each word the reader brings his/her own experiences and own understanding of the word..... the artist may present us with an image and may or may not try to present his own enterpretation along with this image.... but the viewer, reader or listener will always bring his own exeriences to the viewing which will effect his reading of the piece.... there are, as seen above, many enterpretations of the song that different listeners bring to it..... and that's ok.... that's the basis of post modernism..... whether anderson did this intentionally or not is irrelevant |
