| Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution – They Provide The Paint... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Another Kalnoky masterpiece. I can't even describe how much this man's music means to me. | |
| Panic! at the Disco – Northern Downpour Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The first stanza hooked me. The rest of the song is good too, but the first stanza is my favorite P!@TD lyric yet. It's beautiful. | |
| Arcade Fire – Intervention (Original version) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I like this version better than the album one. | |
| Streetlight Manifesto – Forty Days Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is the first song I've heard off of the new album. FUCKING AMAZING. It's sorta anti-christianity without being all "god sux, 666, jesus is fake" typical ignorant athiest. |
| Streetlight Manifesto – Failing, Flailing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yeah, I noticed that the melodies were the same. I love this song. Then again, there are very few streetlight songs that I don't love. |

| G.I.N.A.S.F.S. | |
| Fall Out Boy – G.I.N.A.S.F.S. Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I got it as a bonus track on my US version.... Hands down, THE BEST song from IoH. In all, I thought the album had redundant themes and flowed poorly within single songs. Then I got to the bonus tracks. Besides agreeing with the title, the writing on this song seems a degree above the rest of the album. This song+Andy Hurley=my reason to not give up on the band. |
| Eve 6 – Good Lives Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Favorite Eve 6 song. IAIYH is one of the most underrated albums I've come across. | |
| Peter Bjorn and John – Amsterdam Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is...hypnotizing. | |
| Violent Femmes – No Killing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Pretty straightforward. It's the Milwaukee police because the band is from Milwaukee. (With the exception of Victor DeLorenzo being raised in Racine, which is about 20 minutes south of Milwaukee) |

| Lemon Demon – Word Disassociation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Is something wrong if I actually get out of this song? | |
| Panic! at the Disco – London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I laugh when I hear self-proclaimed scenesters singing this song. | |
| Blue October – Schizophrenia Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I actually get a different meaning to this song. "A silver-plated numbing gum And Jesus resting on my thumb" One of the symptoms of Schizophrenia is seeing things that aren't there to most people. A hard-to-reach malaria Schizophrenia isn't that common of a disease, making it hard to reach. Malaria is used as a general term meaning disease or condition, much the same way "fever" is used later in the song. I've got the mood that seems to scare ya The general public has almost no understanding of what Schizophrenia is. People are scared of the unknown. For some reason, people assume that people with schizophrenia are all dangerous. I'm paranoid -- self-destroyed Paranoia is a common symptom of Schizotypical personality disorders, along with self-destruction. Pretty straightforward here. Believe me Lord I'm sorry He didn't want this to happen. I've got the mood that seems to bury ya I've got the nightmare called schizophrenia There's some statistic on the number of people affected by Schizophrenia that die early, due to suicide and other effects of the disease. I cry, I cry And I don't know why The fever becomes my home He hates it, but it becomes what he's used to. He doesn't hate it any less, but that's the way he knows how to be. I love it when you're holding me You have a gentle way of calming I haven't felt that way since 1993 When my mother held me Does this stanza need an explanation? I bet you're waiting for a long sob story Of how I was mistreated again A lot of people with mental disorders attribute them to some form of abuse in childhood, be it bullying, domestic violence, rape, whatever. But no I wasn't built that way I was strong -- desperately brave He's above blaming his problems on other people. I didn't mean to scare ya What it says. I love this song. |

| My Chemical Romance – Teenagers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I hate this band, and these aren't great lyrics. For some unexplicable reason, I love this song. | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Mark David Chapman Lyrics | 18 years ago |
And Alex, that's 100% untrue. He "found god" after being in jail. Mark Chapman was flat out psycho. It had nothing to do with "corrupting the kids" or whatever the fick you said. |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Mark David Chapman Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Bands all sound the same. | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – I Hate Jimmy Page Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I would just like to point out to the person on the first page who said MSI wouldn't last 5 years...It's been 5 years since that comment. Guess what? they're still here. | |
| Streetlight Manifesto – A Better Place, A Better Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is the song that got me into Streetlight. My foot got crushed earlier this summer. All I was thinking about while it was happening was "Damn, I'm not going to be able to see Streetlight in a few hours!" These guys rock, and this is my favorite song in the universe. |
| Streetlight Manifesto – 1234 1234 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
People will get you down. You can't let them. Life is short. |

| Streetlight Manifesto – A Moment of Silence Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I capitalized the I's and the first letter of each line. Voila. A moment of silence please for those who never get the chance They show up to the party but they're never asked to dance The losers, the liars, the bastards, the thieves The cynicists, the pessimists and those that don't believe in nothing I never met a loser that I didn't see eye to eye with, I declare I stare into your eyes But you look right past me into the air What's it like to stand in your shoes? To have never felt the belt of somebody's abuse? I take the bottle and I tip it to all my heroes that have passed Alas, you have left us but your stories they will last Uninspired by the recruiting call Independent we stand Independent we fall So tell me: How long do you think you can go before you lose it all? Before they call you bluff and watch you fall? I don't know but I’d like to think I had control At some point but I let it go and lost my soul Sit tight but the revolution's years away I’m losing faith and I’m running low on things to say So I guess I have no choice but to regurgitate The tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite Oh! To have died that night I realized it wouldn't last! Our days were numbered and the reaper tipped the hourglass The final mayday of our sinking ship had come and passed Oh! to the west, you don't know what it is you're running from And everybody's laughing loud Your last chance to make your mother and father proud oh, oh, oh... A moment of silence please for those who never get the chance They show up to the party, but they're never asked to dance The losers, the liars, the bastards, the thieves The cynicists, the pessimists and those that don't believe in nothing They said "A pox Upon your house Upon your family and everyone you knew And everyone you'll ever meet" I bet they think we wish we joined when we could But we do what we want we don't do what we should Now everybody's laughing because they're thinking they in on something I don't get Don't forget I connect and I read every word you said Like a child who believes he was wronged If you hate me so much then stop singing my songs So tell me: How long do you think you can go before you lose it all? Before they call you bluff and watch you fall? I don't know but I’d like to think I had control At some point but I let it go and lost my soul Sit tight but the revolution's years away I’m losing faith and I’m running low on things to say So I guess I have no choice but to regurgitate The tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite Oh! To have died that night I realized it wouldn't last! Our days were numbered and the reaper tipped the hourglass The final mayday of our sinking ship had come and passed Oh! To the west, you don't know what it is you're running from And everybody's laughing loud Your last chance to make your mother and father proud |

| Peter Bjorn and John – Young Folks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is so catchy. It's gotten next to no radio play in Milwaukee, but the late-night indie show plays it. | |
| Eve 6 – Hokis Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The song's not funny, but I laughed the first time I heard it because of the scantron lyric. | |
| The Academy Is... – Working Class Hero (John Lennon cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song and this band, but there is no way they're better than John Lennon. I agree that this is an amazing version of the song, but at least for me, it can't top Lennon. This song is pretty straightforward in meaning. |
| Vengaboys – Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The meaning isn't all that deep. I shouldn't have to spell it out. Catchy, but crappy song. |
| Porcupine Tree – Fear of a Blank Planet Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Obviously a comment on modern society. Technology, sex, violence, drugs, and everything else that goes along with it. It's kinda eerie how the video for this song came out the morning of the VT incident. |
| Eve 6 – Bring the Night On Lyrics | 18 years ago |
He's in a pissy mood, and his girl is mad at him. He was probably somewhat taking it out on her without meaning to. He's trying to get her to calm down and realize that he's not mad at her. Just my take on it. |
| Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm pretty sure it's "Three dollars worth of that bathroom cologne," not "polo." Polo doesn't make sense. Cologne does. |
| The Bravery – Time Won't Let Me Go Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is just my opinion, but it seems like all the "good times" that people remenisce about never happened to him. He wishes he could go back and relive everything to try to make it better and notice the good stuff. The song "Summer of 69" focuses largely on nostalgia and summer love. He feels like nothing worth being nostalgiac about has happened to him. Cherry Valance is a character in the book "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. Not sure how that ties in. There's probably another Cherry Valance somewhere I'm not remembering at the moment. |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Mark David Chapman Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is one of the only MSI songs that I can find a semi-intelligent meaning in that isn't related to whores, sex, masturbation, and other things of the sort. IMO, it's about how every band sounds the same, and how people will obsess over them to the point where it's the only thing in their lives. I may be looking too deep here though. I love how 99% of people can just accept MSI as fun, weird, and nonsensical. Their music is oddly calming to me. |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Tight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
zeffez, how the fuck is it about communism? Please enlighten us. |
| Mika – Relax, Take It Easy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The title explains the basic meaning of it. This song makes me smile everytime I listen to it. I don't know why |
| Mika – Grace Kelly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think everyone's pretty much got the meaning. I just love the sound of this song. It's a little like queen, but so upbeat. Mika makes me happy. |
| Bowling for Soup – High School Never Ends Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Does this song even need an explanation of the meaning? The title pretty much says it all. | |
| Billy Joel – Vienna Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I absolutely love this song, and always have. It's been on repeat for the past 2 days. I think it's pretty straight forward. He's telling this kid/young adult to slow down and enjoy life. And for the record, Vienna is most definitely in Austria, not Australia or Italy. |
