To me, this song is obviously about "getting with: someone just for comfort because they remind you of the person you really want to be with, but can't have. Then the person you're using turns out to really like you and wants to stay with you. my parachute didn't open and when my back up failed (this refers to someone he wants to be with, who should be saving him from his depressive feelings) the pixie dust prevailed and i woke up next to you (he still has some luck going for him, because he's found another person, although the new person isn't as good) all i wanted was to hold you (he just wanted comfort, but got carried away) what do you do when your lifes a disaster and your moving faster and its getting harder to breathe (you go and find someone to be with just for the comfort) what do you say if someone is right but you disagree even if its the truth you cant decipher reflections form reality but neither can i (he got with the new person because they look similar (like a 'reflection') to the person he wants to be with) i noticed neither can i i noticed neither can i i noticed neither can i you are the circle i am the square i have the non cut you have the cool hair (making excuses for why they shouldn't be together, because the new person wants to get serious.) |

Like Snikkle, I think the cinnamon spider is a woman who "stole" Jessicka's boyfriend, or a guy she loved. Then maybe Jessicka tried to steal the guy back, making her just as bad (I am the cinnamon spider). But she "lives without guilt" because the man was "hers" first. Hence: "and I am fine and I'll learn to take what's mine and live without guilt" |

I think the guy singing the song is seeing the girl in question, but their relationship isn't really serious, so she sees nothing wrong with seeing other people too. However he is in love with her and wants a proper relationship, but she doesn't, because she likes the freedom of being able to see other people. He knows he should just move on and find someone else who loves only him, but he's too obsessed with the girl to let her go, to the point that he feels violent towards the other guy/guys she sees. Does anyone know a song with a meaning similar to this that isn't specifically about a girl? |

Maybe I'm stupid, but I always thought the song meant he had a son who died. That's what I pictured as soon as I heard it. I guess I took "Papa" and "Daddy" literally. I'm not even sure why I thought of a son rather than a daughter. I'm not a huge fan of aaf, so I wouldn't know whether he did ever have a child. But it never occured to me it could be about anything else. |

| I am completely obsessed with this song because I can relate so much to the whole situation (I am the girl) I met these two guys at the same time, and one of them was everything I wanted in a guy and everyone said we were perfect for each other. We almost ended up together but it just never felt right, I felt so uncomfortable around him. The other guy became a close friend and I always sensed that he liked me as more than a friend, but I never thought much of it because I didn't like him that way. More than a year later I finally realised that HE was the one that was perfect for me. He has always been there for me and is the only guy I really trust. We have both confessed our true feelings now but we live so far away we can't be together. *cries* But it makes me feel better that so many other people have commented on here saying they can relate to the song, because it shows I'm not alone. | |
