The Dresden Dolls – June Is Busting Out All Over Lyrics 18 years ago
Yep, to quote her:

my first real public appearance as a songwriter was in the high school auditorium as the intermission act of the Rogers and Hammerstein muscial "Carousel". I had written a parody/protest song inspired by the production called "June is Busting Out all Over" and the director, Steve Bogart (who was, for the record, directing this schlock against his will) asked me to perform it. it was well received.

I definitely see the Orange Man connection here. I think this song does have a strong reference to Slide, from the girl's point of view, with the "I loved you bright orange" referring to the Orange Man, and "I loved you unprotected but you only love in red" referring to his being attracted to her, "the red little girl" from Slide; but now that she's grown up and she isn't that red little girl anymore, he doesn't 'love' her anymore.

For some reason, this song reminds me of both the president and of Marilyn Manson. No idea why.

I also believe this song is about internet dating, and that maybe when you don't meet by being face to face, you're less likely to judge someone by outer appearances. I'm thinking this because of the 'She lost her legs in a car crash three years ago/She doesn't get around much' part. Like, she...lost her legs, yeah, and the 'she doesnt get around much' bit could refer to actually moving, or to - I'm thinking - making relationships, because some people can have a hard time accepting that sort of thing enough to make a real relationship and all.

For some reason, the whole "Take whatever you like" verse reminds me of the 1956 film The Bad Seed, specifically the part where Rhoda sets the janitor person's bed of excelsior on fire to silence him, after he took the shoes that could incriminate her (I think that's why he took the shoes; I don't remember all that well).
