I am baffled at how this song has no comments lol I truly lovely bit that reminds me even though everything feels so uncertain and distorted, that there are things that still remain beautiful in this ever chaotic world. Listening to this especially when I'm feeling down and out allows me to clear my mind and to reaffirm what I believe in. I think the meaning is rather clear, so I don't think I will need to state so. IMHO, just a great song that seems to go on unnoticed. :\ |

Great song, surprised no one has posted before me. My stab at the meanings- it could be about a girl that is still on his mind alot. And perhaps he is depressed because he lost her. "shot down" maybe from the girl he loves? Then again, it sounds like he is having a hard time going through his life and he hopes God will get him through this hell. And that he should let it all go and not to worry about it. "bring me down for what i need" sounds like he needs to be taken off the stool of pride. It sounds like that to me because it feels like i'm suffering day-to-day so i'm asking "why". So it feels to have a strong meaning on my life right now. And right now all i can hope for is God to get me through this. So it just feels like it relates in a way... like it occurs in alot of music for everyone :) Anyway, just my thoughts... |

well, i just watched this video a couple weeks ago, and all i can say is: "Damn!" I have to agree with the meaning about the song, but i think in the video it works around the fact she is a manipulative, sadistic bitch. I think she was getting married and were taking communion. Well, she gets that one priest/monk to kill her newly wed husband (unsure if this is correct) and in turn calls for the others. Then they of course burn him at the stake. Which she has that sadistic smile going on (near the end, when the monk is killing the guy, etc.) I also think the one priest and her had something going on (the one with the bowl cut). I also think the monks are whipping themselves to remind themselves not to be tempted by her (unsure). Of course, ppl probablly already knew this but... i didn't see it pointed out. Damn good song too. |

This song is superior to most of everything else i listen to. My little brother complains about this song being too long, but this song tends to stay to the point and doesn't stray off which later makes you think "WTF?" I've listened to a couple of songs that can't help but stray after 2-3 min! If they don't stray then they repeat the same lyrics over and over. I listen to this song almost everyday now, i have to give many thanks to my friend who got me to listen to Dream Theater! Thx macro! Also, those complainers that think the song is too long are just too dumb to know how awesome this song really is! Awesome work by Dream Theater, one of my favorites ! |

Good song, awesome lyrics too... When i first heard this on the Heavy Metal Sirius Channel, i knew i had to get it. Well, it took me a while to located it as well. The lyrics were not submitted yet at that point. Meaning is pretty clear of this song. But of course it may have some hidden messages i don't see. w00t... first to post on the one i helped add to the database :) Okay, I'm not really good at figuring out the meaning behind the song (thusly the reason i come to this site) so i'm not going to try. Just a little hint for those just browsing: I found this song by accident because someone labeled it "cradle of filth - nevermore" but with looking through this database there was no cradle - nevermore. So after a few hours of research, i discovered it was Sitra. So if peeps find cradle of filth song "nevermore;" some moron thought it was cradle and mislabeled it. Really good song, I liked it. Good to game to. |
