The lyrics to this are just a little bit wrong... "I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers" The title could refer to how he was in a relationship, and he thought that it was IT but now they're not even together, let alone thinking about marriage. "New York eyes, Chicago thighs" This is my favorite line in the song. The girl does her makeup like she belongs in a big(ger) city than Chicago, but once he gets her alone, without the makeup, she's just a Midwest girl hiding behind who she wants to be. He's mentioned this about a girl (probably Jeanae) in his journal before. Not those exact words, but pretty similar. |
