i realize that the album title is "dusk and summer" but...it may be possible that this song isn't about summer, but the end of spring moving into summer which for many, IS a kind of hibernation. i think he's talking about a prom or a farewell dance when he sings "And from the ballroom floor we are in celebration, one good stretch before our hibernation. Our dreams assured, and we all, we’ll sleep well. " ...and a party celebrating the end of high school or a school year in this line: "Invitation only, grant farewells, crashed the best one of the best ones. Clear liquor and cloudy eye, too early to say goodnight." and he's celebrating with his sweetheart in this line: "Watch you spin around in your highest heels, you are the best one of the best ones. We all look like we feel." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the whole thing generally reminds me of a prom night and a graduation party or something of the sort = ) REALLY great song |

| not positive, but i think that maybe he's supposed to get over someone and he really can't, or he doesnt want to. the other person is moving on too, and he's sort of saying "lets get through this together" in the line ~"when you're heading for a fall then roll over to me, to me, roll over to me"~ | |

| i've never actually heard what this song is about although i would assume its about young teenage love. this song has a soft spot for me though because my mom sang it too me while i was still in the womb and i was coincidently born with brown eyes while the majority of my family has blue eyes, so she used to say it was 'my song' when it came on the radio = ) and god, neongreen19 better be wrong about the whole anal sex thing. | |

| to me, it sounds like this guy has serious self concious-type issues and he's envious of this woman's life. in the first few lines he's in so much pain that his reality is messed up and she's almost telling him to just get over it. he feels like he's getting old now and he hasnt lived his life as well as she has, and now life seems like complete crap. when he says "you fall away and then you starve" it sounds like he has an eating disorder or BDD, especially since he can't get over these awful feelings. behind all of the darker lyrics, he's saying that he's going to make himself feel better by "gracefully dancing", which is something that he can do without worrying about envy, or getting old, or feeling awful about life. it probably makes him feel better about life actually, since its the only thing left that he can enjoy. | |
