How can anybody think this song is chilling? It has such an undefinable way of aggressions and nervousness in it...that bassline combined with the arbitrarily playing of the horns and trumpets and whatever. That great, very energetic... Interpretation of CutSlan is correct in my opinion. |

This is one of the best Interpol songs so far, but unfortunately he uses such an abstracvt vocabulary that I (as a non-native speaker) don't get the meaning of the song, especially the meaning chorus... could anyone explicate it to me, please?;) |

What an amazing song. So simply but so good. The atmosphere that is created...it's simply: you sit there, listen to the music and think about nothing. you're only sitting there, you're chilled and satisfied. I love it. By the way, I think that the lyrics mean that a person helps you and surprises you, the person makes you lucky. And it doesn't matter if it's a friend or your girlfriend or God. But I prefer the things I can see und I can talk with, you know.... |

This was the first really long Pink Floyd song I've heard, and with this song I began to love this music with it's details and so on....and I still love this song, especially the intro, perfect. The meaning could either be about religion or the behaviour of humans in general. Because the main idea ramains constant - to follow a leader blind without thinking about if it's right, about the consequences. And there's no difference if I look at a religion (how many people really think about what they're told, especially the "simple minded" people? If I look at my grandmother...she never thought about why there's a need of God, she simply believed->blind following) or e.g. the Nazi Germany. But meanwhile I consider Pigs (Free Different Ones) just as well as Sheep. To favourite songs of mine from Pink Floyd, Dogs is good too, but not as good as this ones. And Animals is my favourite album of Pink Floyd. Perfect music. |

buddha boy - sorry if I don't unterstand you right, but do you seriosly want to call this (nearly) a rip off of Enjoy the silence? Well, I don't know....have you ever heard to it? I mean, ok, in both songs there is a synthy, but moreover I really can't discover any similar sounds or something......... Personally I think that this song is the best on the new album, together with Knights of Cydonia. Really great. |
