Ok, having studied The Bible For 8 Years i will Try and break this down as easy as possible: Jesus Christ, that's a pretty face The kind you'd find on someone that could save If they don't put me away It’ll be a miracle *here he is admiting to his own wrong, simply put. That everything good is happening somewhere else With nobody in your bed The night is hard to get through * this ones a little more complicated, here he is asking jesus if he was missing out, Jesus lived a life Basically without a woman, asking him, how he did it. and if he was lonely, becuase this man obviously is. And I will die all alone And when I arrive I won’t know anyone Jesus Christ, I’m alone again So what did you do those three days you were dead? Because this problem is gonna last More than the weekend *Jesus Died On Black Friday and Rose 3 Days afterwords, hes refereing to this here and claiming his problem will last longer. Jesus Christ I’m not scared to die But I’m a little bit scared of what comes after Do I get the gold chariot Or do I float through the ceiling *Here he is asking Jesus, what is it like to die, whats in store for me Or do I divide and pull apart Cause my bright is too slight to hold back all my dark This ship went down in sight of land And at the gates does Thomas ask to see my hands? This is claiming that he thinks hes done more wrong than right in his life. The Reference to Thomas, Thomas was an Apostle, or Disciple of Jesus, when Jesus Rose From the Dead, he was the only one of the 12 that wasnt in the room when jesus appeared, the others told him, but he said 'until i see jesus's hands and side, i will not believe' basically, i wont believe hes back untill i see it for myself. What this has to do with the song, im not quite sure, possibly saying look, ive gone through the hardness of life also... I know you're coming in the night like a thief But I’ve had some time, O Lord, to hone my lying technique I know you think that I’m someone you can trust But I’m scared I’ll get scared and I swear I’ll try to nail you back up * I think this is him just scared to be saved because he might be scared of What Jesus will think, or he might think its too late to save him, and by saying 'I swear ill try to nail you back up' saying he wants his help but is too scared and will nail him back up. So do you think that we could work out a sign So I’ll know it's you and that it's over so I won't even try I know you're coming for the people like me * coming for people like me, He obviously knows hes done some wrong that he believes can not be forgiven. But we all got wood and nails And we turn, turn out hate in factories * Saying that jesus can try to save people but there are others who feel like him, and they produce so much hate, he might think that jesus should just turn back now becuase the world has lost hope... Thats not 100% correct, but knowing what i know about Biblical References, and knowing how the This man Thinks from his previous albums, im pretty sure this is what he ment. |
