It's not hard to tell that this song is about how the soldiers over in Iraq used to and still sometimes do abuse the Iraqis. This song was written a little bit after the time that the whole prisoner abuse ordeal was going. Some of you think it's about police brutality, I was thinking that too, but seriously...when does a police squadron have fully automatic weaponry? Except maybe a SWAT team, but most of police brutality is done by riot control squadrons anyway, because the people get violent and the officers just beat them back. |

The Tears for Fears version was my favorite song before this came out. I love Tears for Fears, I'll never get over them. But their song tried to portray anger and rage that they just weren't capable of. But then Disturbed comes along and is like "We can do that" and they do. The lead singer of Tears for Fears even told them that they captured the anger they wanted to get across that TfF could never do. Disturbed has a way with anger and hate and rage and revenge. The song, though, is about how you're angry and full of hate and you just want to let all the anger go, "let it all out." |

This song is pretty straightforward about its meaning, but since some people can't always get it, it's about how some people are making the world shitty by making war and being greedy, and that we should stand up and fight those making problems so we can live in a better world without that madness. |

This song is about people that are different (the sickness) and how society puts them down because they are different (the child abuse verse), and he's just telling everyone to get "down with the sickness," or to understand that some people are different and we should accept it. |
