Yeah, there's a live recording of this song that I found on YouTube, and at the beginning, Tom says to the audience somethin like "I've discovered this candy item; it's an immaculate confection, it's like this little thing wth a cross on one side and a bible inscription on the other, and you put it in your mouth and when it's gone...you can just get up a leave". So that kinda ties in with what "KurtK" said. Thats my two cents anywayssss |

As far as I know, the term "Backwoods" means a place that's out of the way...middle of nowhere if you will. I think it's just gettin' the message across that most of the big artists - Chuck Berry, Little Richard - are from the less talked about, out of the way places; this is my best guess, I haven't actually been bothered to look up where the mentioned artists are from, but feel free to ;) |

Alright, well I agree with kmk natasha with the whole Macduff and Donalbain thing, and the anti-conformist stuff. But I reckon it's all being applied to society, like with "pink champagne and swimming pools" - creates that idealistic American teenage party; "all you have to lose is your virginity": the norm, and the way to fit in...If ya get what I mean hehe.
