Can't believe there are only 4 Geto Boys songs on here. This beat is mint. The lyrics speak of the "G Code" that is more or less an unwritten set of rules or laws for the streets and whatnot. |

Tight song, it's more or less a self-promoting, ego-boosting song as well as a diss to Nas.
The beat is the same as the following:
Immortal Technique - Land of the Gun
opening scene in Jackass 2
Ecstasy of Gold by composer Ennio Morricone |

To BLAHness90, that's an absurd and obvious thing to state. Just because a song is about the hardships and troubled times surrounding a specific event (most likely vietnam) doesn't mean it applies to every event (c'mon, global warming?! REALLY??) I personally believe that this song, nowadays can be related to the rain that my town received last night. |

I think that one of the most impressive things about Tech (along with obviously the quality of his raps) is the quantity of information and words in his songs... It's not just "This is why I'm hot" repeated 17 times and then Lil Jon saying "What" for another minute and they call it a song. Each one of Tech's songs tell a story, it's almost like a fucking history lesson on a CD. There's so much he raps about, I can sit and read his songs for hours, figuring out everything he references. Great shit; can't wait to see him with RAGE this summer! |

mordechai, you're retarded. E only started coming out as a recreational drug in the early 80s in sleezy Dallas bars. This album dropped in 1975, therefore the song was written before that. Not everything is about drugs. Rolling is also a thing a fucking wheel does!!! or possibly can be used in the phrase "let the good times roll"

Oh, and I think you meant "Nas is the shit", not "Naz is shit". If you haven't heard his new album, Hip-Hop is Dead, then check it out. He samples Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda, and also has a sick song about his musical influences which includes a Nat King Cole bit. |

In response to bluchickenlvr04,
First, I am glad that you know the Cars, Foreigner, Segar, etc. I agree that it is also some great music, and it's good to know we agree on some things. But if you want me to namedrop good bands, I'll sit here all day with you; however, when getting a point across, it's good to use examples that most people can relate to. If you want me to say that good music is Apathy, Army of the Pharaohs, Hieroglyphics, etc. then I can. BUT NO ONE WILL GET IT.
About the drugs. I did not condone drug use, neither do I personally do drugs. If your self esteem is weak enough that a complete stranger's single online post can sway your decision to do something potentially harmful then I think there are larger issues.
Also, don't call me and idiot when your myspace username is in ebonics. That's just ignorant.
Lastly, when you listed some "better" alternatives to the bands I had previously listed, I believe you meant the band "Heart" (singles include Barracuda, magic man...) when you wrote "The Hearts". If not, this is a band I have not yet heard of and would like to learn more about if you suggest they are worthy of being in a list with the Cars and Bob Segar. |

I've been trying to figure out the line "Standin' with the fury that they had in '66" and what in 1966 Zach is referring to. The Black Panthers were founded in October of that year, and that's what I think he is referring to, but I'm still not positive. Can someone confirm this? |

I agree with stlrams. This shit sucks. This song will fade away like all it's other "singles" Listen to some good music... Hendrix, Zeppelin, Nas, Immortal Technique.... have you 14 year olds ever heard of that? A song can either be great inturmentally (LZ or Hendrix cuz of all the drugs) or it can have powerful and meaningful lyrics such as stuff by Immortal Technique, RATM, Nas... this song has neither |
