This song is from the album Sense which also has the song The Life of Riley, which is about the birth of Ian Broudie's son. To me, there are some references to new life in this song too... 'There's moments when they touch you with that magic touch, and you shine...' This line makes me think that you may feel hopeless and down but all this dissolves away when your child is with you. Also 'And in this world, you're upside down, when you first come round..' I think this refers to birth as (unless the baby is in breech) we are born head first and upside down so to speak. The music in this song sort of reminds me of a lullaby too. |
