Relient K's (road?) manager is named Scott. I'm pretty sure this is just a clever song about Scott with a reference to Star Trek. He brings them coffee, and is probably in charge of the internet, and the fact that "everyone [is] beaming" at the shows is thanks to Scott's hard work. I've actually met Scott before, he's a really nice guy. =] |

This song is especially funny when you speak French. =] I love how in the video, they're all dressed up exactly like the models in beginning French books, and everything they say is totally random. The part with all the foods at the supermarket is my favorite part. |

"You said, you said that you would die for me but you must live for me too..." I agree with what most people have said about this song and this line, but I feel like it's more than just staying alive and not killing herself. Going back to the religious theme, when you live for someone, such as for Jesus, you have to give your whole life. Not just the parts that are comfortable, you have to dedicate yourself completely. It's a whole lot easier to die for someone than to live for them. How many people would you die for? I know I'd probably sacrifice my life for a large number of my friends'. But how many am I really living for? None, yet. Living for them is the greatest form of love, I think. Perhaps he's frustrated that she says that she would die for him, but that isn't enough? I'm not sure how that fits in with everything else, but I feel like there's so much more to that line than the other explanations cover... |

Sra13 - I definitely thought that this song has some references to God. "Steady hands take the wheel" in particular, makes me think of surrendering and letting God take control. And the line "Steady feet, don't fail me now" reminds me of the verse Isaiah 40:31: "they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Perhaps he's asking God to give him strength? Or perhaps God is the "steady feet" on which he stands? I'm not sure the song is ABOUT God, but I think it could be any of the other interpretations plus a feeling of asking God to take control. |

I don't think this song is *about* God, exactly, but He is definitely part of the song. I think it is about a relationship, but not necessarily a romantic one, though it could be. I just think that it's about helping and not giving up on a friend who doesn't know God, or who is in a lot of pain and having issues. |

Fiascodagama: Yeah, you always capitalize You or He when referring to God. Usernamewastaken: Don't worry, what happened in the music video wasn't totally under the band's control. I remember reading in an interview that they weren't very happy with the way the video turned out and what the producers (or whoever was in charge of it) did with it. And even with the video making it seem like the song was about a girl, they still manage to bring people to God. This video was the first time I'd ever heard of Relient K, and because of their music I've become so much closer to God. |

I love this song. ^-^ The music and the lyrics are so beautiful... I can see multiple different interpretations of this song. It could be about anyone you love...a family member, a girlfriend/boyfriend, and/or God. Either way, it's an amazing song with incredible lyrics. |

| Flyleaf – Breathe Today Lyrics | 18 years ago |

To me, this song is about being saved. Lacey's talking to someone who doesn't know the Lord. I'm not sure if this is how it's intended, but a lot of my friends are athiests, and this song really relates to my life right now. "So many lies swirling All around you You're suffocating The empty shape in you Steals your breath You're suffocating" I think that these lyrics are about the lies that people are surrounded with, and that breath is a metaphor for God and being saved, and the suffocating is a metaphor for the devil. "Logic forces me to believe in this And I have learned to see And I can only say what I've seen and heard And only you can choose And every choice you make will effect you Search your own self" These lyrics are saying that no matter how hard you try to help someone know God and tell them about Him, only they can make the choice to believe. "Big enough to fill the void that's inside of you It's just a breath away" I think this part is saying that God is so big, and he can fill you with His love if only you decide to take that breath and accept Jesus as your savoir. |

I agree, this song is about God. It describes worshipping, and I feel almost exactally like this when I worship. Everyone's said what I would've said already, so I'm not going to repeat. But I do want to respond to nazlucas's question. He or she said "I like to know how this is related to God: 'And you whisper you love me And I begin to fade Into our secret place'" That is acutally one of my favorite lyrics in the song. When I worship, I can feel God's love, and hear him speaking to me. And everything and everyone else fades away, and it's only me and God, in our own "secret place." Amazing song. ^-^ |
