| Nelly Furtado – All Good Things Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think the song is an analysis of relationships in general. Whether it be friendships, or romantic relationships. I can personally relate to it as romantic relationships. Honestly what will become of me don't like reality It's way too clear to me (She's in a relationship and is happy but she's questioning what will become of her when it ends. She knows relationships don't last forever in reality and doesn't like that. It's way too clear to her because she's been there before). But really life is daily We are what we don't see Missed everything daydreaming (In reality life is lived on a daily basis, one day everything can be great and the next you can be heartbroken. In relationships we forget about reality because we're in love and daydreaming about the future. We're so caught up in the moment that we forget about the pain that comes in the end). [Chorus:] Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to end? come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to an end? (The chorus is very clear, in a relationships there's flames then dust. We're lovers then friends, why do all good things come to an end?) Traveling I only stop at exits Wondering if I'll stay Young and restless Living this way I stress less (I love this line, traveling I only stop at exits - She only stops in life for relationships that will soon end (exits). She keeps falling in love throughout her life wondering if she'll stay young and restless. She'd rather live this way because it's less stress to go through life falling in love than to be bitter and alone. I want to pull away when the dream dies The pain sets in and I don't cry I only feel gravity and I wonder why (When the dream dies and the relationship ends she wants to pull away - run away maybe?). The pain sets in but she can't cry because she been here too many times before. She only feels gravity and she wonders why. TO me the gravity reference is the feeling when you come down from the 'high' of love. Gravity pulls you back down to earth and reality and it hurts. Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to end? come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to an end? Well the dogs were whistling a new tune Barking at the new moon Hoping it would come soon so that they could Dogs were whistling a new tune Barking at the new moon Hoping it would come soon so that they could Die die die die die According to Lunar charts, the new moon is technically when there is no moon at all, after the occurrence of a waining moon. We all no that dogs like to bark at the moon. I personally see the dogs as her emotions and pain. They keep barking and she's waiting on a new moon (or no moon at all) so they'll stop barking so she can get some peace after the end of a relationship. I'm not sure about this but that's my take. Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to end? come to an end come to an Why do all good things come to an end? Well the dogs were barking at a new moon Whistling a new tune Hoping it would come soon And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away (She almost wants the sun to stay away so she can get on with getting closure on her relationship and then enjoy the sun - life - when she is really happy. And the sky was falling and the clouds were dropping and the rain forgot how to bring salvation I view this line as her tears. The rain forgot how to bring salvation. Her tears have dried up, she forgot how to cry which would give her some release - salvation). the dogs were barking at the new moon Whistling a new tune Hoping it would come soon so that they could die. That's just my analysis, I love the song and can certainly relate. |

| Thanks, it's nice to know I'm not the only one in that situation, it really sucks :( | |

I think this song is about a girl he is in love with but she doesn't love him because can't get over her ex. She lead him on and told him it would work but she doesn't love him. He thinks it was perfect but she's coming up with all these problems that aren't real because she's too busy comparing him to her ex. Also the line "I can't be somebody else" is Daniel's way of saying that he can't be her ex. he is himself but that's not good enough for her. She's in denial saying that she's over her ex but he can see through her. "Behind your lies, I can see the secrets you don't show". An excellent song, helping me through the same situation at the moment. I love how you can hear the emotion in his voice. |

| Lily Allen – Fuck You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't think she's not 'tollerating' George W. Bush in the song, I think she's just telling him to keep his small minded opinions to himself, and basically....well to go fuck himself lol! | |
| Lily Allen – Chinese Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think it's about her mother. When she says 'You'll make me beans on toast and we'll watch T.V.'. Beans on Toast is a big Irish and English tradition and it's very common for the mum to make Beans on Toast when the kids are visiting home or are feeling down. The whole lyrics seem to fit better with it being about her mum rather than a relationship. Anyways just my take :) |

| Pink – I Don't Believe You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"It's like you're the swing set and i'm the kid that falls" love these lines and her voice sings them so raw. Although I do like this song and it's clearly very personal to P!ink I do think there is a dark tone from it. She's almost like a stalker who won't give up. She's clearly in denial when she states, "no i don't believe you when you say don't come around here no more i won't remind you you said we wouldn't be apart no i don't believe you when you say you don't need me any more so don't pretend to not love me at all" she just can't take a hint and refuses to here that he doesn't want to be with her anymore. That's just my take on it although I do think it's very sad and deep it's not my favorite on the album. However IO think everybody feels like this after a breakup at some point in their lives. |

| Pink – Crystal Ball Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This is the type of music I like to hear from P!nk. her deeper stuff outdoes her fun stuff. I think this song is about living and not having regrets. "Drinkin wine and thinkin bliss is on the other side of this I just need a compass and a willing accomplice All my doubts that fill my head cascading up and down again Up and down around again, down and up and down again" She's not sure where she's going but it doesn't matter because everything will work out in the end. "The cracks in the crystal, the cracks in the crystal ball" represents how the future isn't 'set in stone' or a sure thing but not fearing the unknown but learning to accept it as we may not be here tomorrow. "Sometimes you think everything is wrapped inside a diamond ring" represents a spouse or engagement partner who is everything to you. "Love just needs a witness, and a little forgiveness And a halo of patience, and a less sporadic pace, " conveys the effort that love takes but how worth it it is when you are willing to work at a relationship. In the lines "Irony, irony is hating love, hating love For what it does to me, what it’s done to me What it’s done, done" P!nk explains how she can't hate love for what it's done to her because that would be ironic as the love that hurt her has made her who it is today. Anyway that's just my take on the song, this is by far my favorite on the whole Funhouse album. |

Madge, a deep song?? What next, Michael Jackson being black? This is clearly about a controlling relationship she keeps returning to, so not madge but I'm feeling it and I don't even like her. Much better than that "4 Minutes" cr*p! |

| Rihanna – Disturbia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I love this song, can't wait for the video. Okay, so for a typical Rihanna song (who I love) this is very deep. In fact it's so deep I have a few theories on what it could mean and so it cna relate to various circumstances whoch adds to it's versatility in it's listeners. My first theory is about panick attacks, having suffered from them myself I know how they feel and are not fun. These lines: It's a thief in the night To come and grab you It can creep up inside you And consume you A disease of the mind It can control you It's too close for comfort " deptict a panic attack perfectly, so much so I was freaked out when I found the song on Perez Hilton 5 mins after having one. My second theory is that it's about a controling realtionship again thses lines 'COULD' convey a controling partner "It's a thief in the night To come and grab you It can creep up inside you And consume you A disease of the mind It can control you It's too close for comfort" My final theory is that the song is about marriage, lol here me out first, these lines "No more gas in the rig Can't even get it started Nothing heard, nothing said Can't even speak about it All my life on my head Don't want to think about it Feels like I'm going insane" speak of an upcoming comitment weighing over her, especially "all my life on my head" the lines "Release me from this curse I'm trying to remain tame But I'm struggling You can't go, go, go I think I'm going to oh, oh, oh" also suggest marriage although I must suggest it's not a good one, a rather 'Disturbing' one if you will. The line "I feel like a monster" portrays how she feels about leaving the relationship and the guilst she experiences, a great similae if you ask me. Very poetic. What I love most about the song is the cheery bam bam and the thhumping dance beat mixed with very haunting vocals and disturbing lyrics. It really is the most unusual yet refreshing tune I've hear in a long long time. A big hot for sure. Well that's just my take, thanks to all for reading :) |

| Sam Sparro – Black and Gold Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think it's deffinately about questioning God. "If vision is the only validation, then most of my life isn't real" this is his way of saying if he can't see something (i.e God) it might aswell not exist. I also agree with eatbeast that the stars are gold and the sky at night is black, hence the title. Very deep song and I'm loving it. Great beat, kinda a cross between Gnarls Barkley and The Scissor Sisters. |

| Madonna – 4 Minutes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think the lyrics are pure awful, I'm normally quite good at putting my own spin on the meanings of songs, even the more shallow ones but these are horrible. The background is too busy and noisy and the beat isn't even consistent. I love both Madge and JT so I expected a lot but this is the worst song EVER! I much prefer Janet's FeedBack! | |
| Natasha Bedingfield – I Bruise Easily Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this is a beautiful song, the meaning could be obvious about trusting someone to put a "postive" not "negative" mark on you're life. I think it could also have a much deeper meaning, about abuse or even rape and she is trusting someone for someone for the first time! | |

| Natasha Bedingfield – Wild Horses Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think it's about being scared of getting hurt from a past experience "I wanna open my heart tell him how I feel" she wants to ride like "wild horses" and give it her all but is too scared to. Beautiful, very poetic song! |

| Dido – See The Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |

It's not about her friends wife leaving him. It's about her friends wife/girlfriend dying. Hence the line "You can wear anything as long as it's not black Please don't mourn forever She's not coming back" and the other line "Do you remember telling me you found the sweetest thing of all You said one day this was worth dying for So be thankful you knew her at all But it's no more" she clearly died. |

| Hilary Duff – Gypsy Woman Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Calm down bestpersonever, no she wouldn't use black people as a reference to the song because they don't have a bad "curse", now obviously not all gypsies were bad but she just uses that as a reference because it's extremely painful for a man to cheat on his whole family for a seedy affair. Clearly you have never been through this as you said "million gypsies were killed in the holocaust, which does not compare to one man getting divorced". Well actually it does compare, it can tear a whole family appart so for some people it is as extreme as the holocost. | |
| Nelly Furtado – Say It Right Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think the song is about her husband being unfaithful. By saying "You don't mean nothing at al to me" she is talking about how she feels about the 'cheating' husband. When she says "You could mean everything to me" she is saying if he'd stay faithful she could allow herself to continue loving him. I believe the line "This space is holy do you really want to go?" is about their marriage. By saying "do you really want to go" is saying do you really want to continuing with your affairs. "I could sing you another brick that I laid" is saying she can give him more idle threats. The song is very deep and acts pn various emotions and I think the beat is almost 'spook' whic enhances the feeling of insecurity in the relationship to help the listener relate to her circumstances. Either way it is an amazing song that I just can't get enough of. | |
| Marion Raven – Crawl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Ok this is a very metaphorical song to me. In verse 1 "High on a hill Heard a bird sing her song Sang you were true Well, she got it all wrong" She explains how she was blind to see the truth about her boyfriend. High on a hill means she is "high in love" Verse 2 "She didn't know about your lies And all your stupid alibis Don't you know this bird got wise Surprise, surprise, surprise" She now explains how the more he lied and used alibis the wiser she became still refering to herself as the bird. Verse 3 "Fell off the hill Into darkest of dreams Promises broke Ripped apart at the seams" She explains how she fell out of love (fell off the hill) because of the promises he broke. Verse 4. "So now you know this bird has flown You will repay me what you owe Don't you know you're gonna live Alone, alone, alone" This verse pretty much sums up the whole song, "so now you know this bird has flown away" means she left him "You will repay me what you owe Don't you know you're gonna live Alone, alone, alone" means the only way he can repay her what he owes is to live alone as she knows he will because of the way he treats his "loved" ones. |

| Marion Raven – Break You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I recently saw this video on MTV hits here in Ireland and had never heard of Marion. At first I could have swore it was Alanis Morisette, but as the video went on I realised she was much younger. I think this song is very catchy with a ver angry but sad meaning which I think is quite obvious in the chorus alone. I searched everywhere for her album but she never made it big in the UK so I had to order it over the internet, I'm now a huge fan and really do hope she'll make it world wide, her songs have an angsty rock feel similar to artists such as, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette and Evanesence, She truely is unique and if the artists I mentioned above can crack the UK it shouldd be a walk in the park for Marion. |

| Gwen Stefani – Cool Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Ok this song is the type that you feel like you've known your whole life. To me I get a sense of bitterness from gwen she almost sounds sarcastic when she says "And now we're hanging out with your new girlfriend". I get the sense that she is still not over her boyfriend but says "I know e're cool" to hide her pain because shes embareassed by the fact that she regrets it never worked out. It is clear she is married in the line "Now you call me by my new last name" but it is again almost satcastic and she wonders what if things had have turned out differently. Either way I think it has a real 80's feel almost retro with sharp to the point lyrics. This is my favourite Gwen song by far. |
