Jon Mclaughlin – Beautiful Disaster Lyrics 18 years ago
its about a girl who wants to belong, and have a home. but no matter what she does, no one stays with her. shes still young, and thinks that maybe she's just not good enough, and if she was prettier, people would like her. if she "gave the boys what they want," she'll be loved. She doesnt want to complain, but she's so lost. I dont think she wants to accept the fact that her life is a disaster at this point. In trying to become beautiful, she became a disaster. But what she doesnt understand, is that being herself is okay.

Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics 18 years ago
this song does revolve around death, but i think its also about life. i think its abotu two people that really dont belong anywhere. like, most people eiter go to heaven or hell when they die; its just a common idea accepted by society. but these two people are different. it seems theres no room for them anywhere. and thats okay, because they dont need anything, not even light, but each other.

its such a sweet song, if she's all alone when her time comes, he'll go with her.

that line, "ill follow you into the dark," i feel like its also about the dark parts of life. when life gets hard, he wont just leave you alone to die; he'll go with you.

Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars Lyrics 18 years ago
i think its about a mistake, and for a long time, someone has been struggling, and living with a lot of pain. i mean, life is full of pain, whether its little or big, it all sucks. you can try to make it subside, like making the dog sleep for a while, but you always see it, and it never goes away. and it all seems fine, just enough to get through.

But finally, it all just crashes. and imogen tells her not to ask for sympathy, or cry about it. instead, she tells her to get into the crazy street with speeding cars, and face her life. probably, she will get hit, but in the end she'll be okay. her friend [the speaker] finally confronts her, and after a long time of being afraid to do something, she finally steps in, and is there for her. she tells her that whatever happened, it was a long time ago, and she isnt mad or upset about it.

but now, its going to be okay, because she doesnt have to go it alone. she has a friend with her, willing to get her through the long, hard road of recovery.

lyrics mean different things to different people, i guess this is just how i see it in my life. really, a very intense song.
