| Puscifer – The Undertaker (Renholder Mix) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It's a song about the way the world is now. He's saying goodbye to these things, these addictions. He's realized the path of self-destruction the human race is taking right now. It's, essentially, a declaration of his own freedom from material things. This path of materialism and "Bottom line-ness" is the smoke and arrogance. He's calling these human-made ideas lies, which they are. Money is something attached to material goods- It's putting a dollar amount on things that should be free. People and the establishment make you feel guilty for not contributing. The path of one whom realizes and see through the bullshit is a lonely one. The guilt he felt only made it easier for him to tear away the way the things he used to love. Fact of the matter is that the human race is heading down a path of self-destruction and he doesn't feel bad about that. He knows that he's made his choice and he's sticking to it. Once everything is gone and restarted, he'll simply be the one to say "I told you so. You done fucked yourself over." Or it could be about some mean bitch. Either way. |

I've been getting the exact same feel for the song. It talks of the rhythm of the wind, the dance of the earth, the circle of which all life revolves. It's a rejection of this reality because these human ideals are human-created ideals. "God works in mysterious ways." It's only mysterious to those who are blinded by the false perception of reality created by these human-made systems. God lies in everything and attachment to material goods blinds humankind, en masse. Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, all major religions talk of detaching one's self from materials and living by 'the rhythm of the moon and tide.' I also think Maynard makes references to this ideology in Tool: Lipan Conjuring. Hopi Lipan have made a great point to keep their faith unchanged for thousands of years. Their rituals, song and dance are all made to these rhythms. In the end, it's all about love. |

| Incubus – Psychopsilocybin Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I'm guessing it's about the weird looks that a spiritual mushroom user gets. People might also consider someone on mushrooms somewhat psychotic, or even after the trip after their perception of reality has changed. Pretty much about a mushroom-loving hippie, I s'pose. IMO, it kinda trivializes mushroom usage for spiritual expansion/therapy down to some of the inconsiderate douchebags out there. Also: Psychopsilocybin doesn't exist. The actives in mushrooms are psilocin and psilocybin. Psilocybin is actually broken down to psilocin in the stomach and passes the blood-brain barrier as psilocin. :3 |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Bold As Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Lyrically and musically one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I'm assuming each one of the colors is a physical representation of each of his emotions but I'm going to try and not read too deep into this song. I'll just listen to it and love it for what it is. As far as the acid things goes: Jimi was heavy on acid, as many hippies were at the time. His music is obviously heavily influenced by LSD but that doesn't mean you have to listen to it on acid to enjoy it. Seeing the colors... that's a normal thing with acid. You don't have to be listening to music to see pretty colors. Drop and go out into the woods, camping. You'll see. :3 |

| Primus – Frizzle Fry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Frizzle Fry is blatantly about tripping on LSD. For one, the name. Frying is a term for someone that has dropped acid and is currently tripping. Usually when you're tripping, enclosed places around you will look like the walls are bending in and out, like it's breathing. Women don't matter. You aren't driven sexually while tripping; whereas you would see with other drugs like Ex, Cocaine or booze. Thus the "I have no use for beauty dolls, especially on this night" lyric. When you're on acid, things take on faces. In a campfire, you'll see faces all over the place in the hot coals and inanimate objects will take on animate values. Faces, personalities, breathing, living. Depending on your trip and how intense it is, this can be a good or bad thing. When you're on acid, all of these values in life seem to lose their meaning. You don't see why people feel spite, sin, charity, miracles. They all just lose their meaning. Much like numbers. You can picture a number six in your head but it'll just be a shape. No meaning to it and it becomes hard to count... Really hard. But that's mostly an aspect of shrooms. The white porcelain reference is probably a toilet that he is seeing but it's taking on an animate personality, like with the stone. The toilet just happens to have a round mouth and looks like it's screaming. Another thing about LSD is that there is a possibility of doing more than your mind can handle or the acid pulling out underlying psychological conditions like Schizophrenia. The poor kid painting probably lost his freakin' mind, finally and they're about to haul him away to a mental institution. ... Acid is a helluva drug. |

| Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I don't think it's about smoking hash as much as it is an LSD trip. LSD is also known as "Sunshine" and, in higher doses, trips can produce hallucinations of "Entities", spiritual-like beings that kind of "Guide" you. LSD can feel like a mystical experience and reality changes so much. And the "No squealing, remember that it's all in your head" is like someone trying to rationalize what's going on and realize that it's the chemical causing these hallucinations and feelings. You try to tell yourself it's all a drug-induced state-of-mind but your mind is telling you "Oh, shit! This looks real, it must be!" Well, that's my take on it at least. |

| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
After really reading into this one, I've come to several different ideas. One being that it a song based from the point of view of Narcissus, looking into the pool and seeing his reflection, then falling in love with himself... Thus, pining away in his own image and dying in that state. Next one is the possibility of Jungian Psychology. Much like 46 & 2, we shed the ego and step into the shadow and intigrate to continue in evolution. This being shown that in Jungian Psychology, Jung believed we were all one single consciousness. The collective unconscious. And the last of my ideas about this song being that we reflect information like the moon reflects sunlight. Like Greensaint said. No matter what point of view I look at this song from, it always seems to sooth me and make me feel better. One of Tool's more beautiful songs. |
