oh my hell! this song is THE BEST "shut the fuck up" song ever written. one day, my dad was being an asshole, as usual, and kept saying he was going to break my fingers. that night and all of the next day, i was listening to this song on repeat. i kept thinking about how much i hated him. i also made plans to play a concert with my band and "dedicate" the last song to my 'wonderful daddy' and ill play this song. one of metallicas best songs. i think its about being in some kind of metal prison (whether physically or mentally) and thinking about how normal you think you are. in my opinion, you could take any normal, sane person, lock him up and eventually anyone would go crazy. this song shows the horrors of being judged and "labeled mentally deranged" my favorite line is "keep him tied- it makes him well. hes getting better, cant you tell?" oooh that always brings chills to me when i hear it. anyway kick ass song by metallica. master of puppets is THE GREATEST thrash album EVER :) rock on |

ya metallicas old stuff is WAY better but this song is really good and the lyrics are powerful. I dont really know about the whole child abuse thing but i think its about an evil spirit (possibly satan) tempts a human and eventually completely possesses him hence the phrase "im inside open your eyes... im YOU!!!" as in i am now at the point where i completely rule over you. I am you. Kick ass song. Metallica rules! |
