It's about self-destructive love.
If anyone watches Dracula movies they'd know that often times there's serious romantic themes involving vampires, but the whole blood sucking thing gets in the way. They end in some serious self-loathing.
The narrator destroys women because he's a mess. He's saying don't even try to date me because stronger souls than you have failed.

I'm pretty sure "He" means Milosevic, the president of Serbia. He was charged with crimes against humanity after the war in Kosovo was over. He committed a genocide against the Bosnians. I could be wrong, but I think that's who Blunt is referring to. |
