I feel sometimes during the course of beginning a relationship, you and the other person form a strong friendship, but as the relationship porgresses, sometimes that friendship tends to get lost. That's what this song means to me. I know that really isn't how it started in this song, but that's how it is in many scenarios. It's that great kinship that is formed in the beginning, that you tend to hold on to and that is what makes it so hard to let go. You keep thinking it will go back to that, but it just seems to keep getting farther and farther from it. But you're so afraid to let go, b/c you know how good it can be. You can't get that out of your system, or your mind. Your stuck on stupid, pretty much. |

Per an interview that he gave, Musiq stated he was speaking to Love, as if it were a person. (kind of like he was writing it a letter) That is what I had gotten from it, but I wasn't too sure, until I read the article. I had heard some people interpreted that he was speaking of 'God', makes sense, 'God is Love'. Others interpreted it as a present relationship, also, untderstandable. I do like, though, that it is an actual conversation with "love" itself. Gives it a deeper and more original feel. |
