On one hand, I agree with Fallen Leaves' first comment, but on the other hand, I have a sort of different oppinion on what this song is about. To me this song is about how when a person dies their existance seems to fade from this world to the point where they never existed from the start, and we, the fans, are being asked to try to keep the memory of a loved one alive. I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared But no one would listen, cause no one else cared After my dreaming I woke with this fear What am I leaving when I'm done here? - To me, I feel like this line is talking about having a dream about dieing, and that someone important to the dreamer is in a state of chaos/distress/grief because that person died. Then when the dreamer wakes up, the dream they just had has a powerful impact on them, and it makes them question what they've been doing up until then. Which brings us to the chorus... When my time comes forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed Don't resent me, when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory, leave out all the rest Leave out all the rest - This part is (obviously) about when the dreamer actually does die. They're asking that loved one to make the best of their time together worth it, and to never forget all the good times they've had together. It also sounds like they're asking that person to help them do things that will make their existance worth remembering. 'Coz I mean if you did things like steal money from orphans do you really think you would be worth keeping in memory? Don't be afraid, I've taken my beating, I've shared what I made I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through I've never been perfect, but neither have you - This line sounds like it's saying the dreamer has done their share of sins, but they're asking the loved one to remember the good things that they've done instead. Forgetting all the hurt inside, you've learned to hide so well Pretending someone else can come and save me from myself I can't be who you are - It sounds to me like they're saying that it's okay to cry if they need to, and then the second line //maybe// is saying 'please don't try to replace me when i'm gone' (probably not, though). And then I can't figure out that last part. Well, those are just my thoughts on the song. I love it, I haven't heard all of the songs on the new album yet, but this one is my favorite so far. |

"Now for a question. Why are Gothic people scary?" I speak for myself when I say this, but i'm sure plenty of other goths are on the same track as I am. I prefer to be scary because I see fear as a weakness, something to take advantage of and bend to my will. So therefore I try to be as horribly fearsome as I possible can. The more people are afraid of me, the less courage they'll have to refuse any orders I give them. As for my take on the song, I think it's beautiful. Dani's voice is so amazing, I wish I could sing as good as he does. I also agree with what most people are saying. I too think it might be about a woman who is so beautiful, but no one can have her, so five preists rape and kill her. |

I'm kind of hoping Corey means Satan is taking over the world. X3 "But cohesion, it's possible if we try" - Cohesion is sticking together, so maybe he means stick together, don't leave your fellow soldier behind, and maybe no one will die. "There's no reason, there's no lesson, no time like the present" - I don't have any idea what there's no reason, there's no lesson might mean, but I think there's no time like the present is supposed to mean it's time to stop waiting around, now is the time to act. That's just what I think. =/ |

| If no one's bothered to look up the deffinition of aphid yet, here it is. Aphid is "any of numerous very small soft-bodied homopterous insects that suck the juices of plants" (according to merriam webster). Maybe Corey says "aphid attraction" because he means that she picks at him and irritates him simply by being alive and that she never notices him (I kind of connect that with the stalking idea), he might also mean that she sucks the life out of him, and despite all of that, he continues to love her. That was all kind of the first thing that I thought of that seemed reasonable after I looked up the word aphid. | |

Ronnie Winter is a lyrical genius. Ronnie winter is a HOT lyrical genius. Lol. But yeah, I agree. This song is pretty much about thinking you're friends with someone, but they're just fake and they stab you in the back (despite one line of the song being "stab you right in the face"). In short fake friends. I would dedicate this song to my ex best friend, but this song is to awesome for someone like him. |
