Children of Bodom – Living Dead Beat Lyrics 18 years ago
I know it has nothing to do with what this song is "really" about, but I get the picture of stealth planes, or more specifically stealth bombers such as the F-117 or especially the B-2.

"LOOK OUT !"
Watch out, because here comes the USAF to bomb whatever country has decided to go against us.

"Once again waiting for the darkness, "
The stealth planes such as the B-2 and F-117 fly at night. The pilots are waiting for their next mission.

"beat up spun and scarred."
The pilots are tired because they might have done a similar sortie the day before.

"Preparing for another war."
They are getting ready for their next mission or "war"

"Day by day we decay."
The pilots have been doing many missions since the start of their deployment. so they are tired, or "decaying"

"Sunlight, get out of my way."
Once again, the flying at night so that it is harder to shoot them down by sight, especially since the radar doesn't work on these planes.

"Dig up yourself from your grave."
Imagine a B-2 Spirit bomber coming out of a hardened bunker, since they cost about $2,000,000,000 apiece and so the technology is not captured.

"Back to the reason to kill
Not exactly a motherfucking role model.
To you looking down on me.
FUCK YOU BITCH!"
This is expressing why the war was started and maybe the country was trying to corrupt its people, or perhaps other countries, hence "not exactly a motherfucking role model" and the country was badmouthing the US or its allies, "to you looking down on me"

"Ain't got time for the future or the past.
Live for the moment, make it last."
This is showing the pilots dedication to their missions, rather than thinking ahead as to what might happen wrong, or back, like if something went wrong before like the F-117 downed in Serbia.

"As long as the twilight veiled"
Yet another night reference

"The decadence we embrace
More than the ones we love
We're ardent, we're burning down..."
They are following orders, and do not mind the destruction they're causing (the decadence we embrace) and they care very much for what they're doing despite the wear on their bodies.

"Not afraid of crying, sorrow and foe.
Not afraid of falling down below."
The pilots are willing to risk crashing, or "falling down below" to get their jobs done

"To the night, recklessly we fly."
They take off during the night to do their work.

"Like living dead, we'll never die"
The stealth makes them all but immune to detection and getting shot down, therefore they'll "never die"

"Stalling the sandman, fighting back"
The missions run long into the night but the pilots resist sleep

"drinking like a madman,"
maybe the "drinking" doesn't refer to alcohol, but a thirst for vengeance after what "country X" did to the US or its allies.

"run away from the light to come."
They have to finish before sun-up, or be at risk for visual detection.

"SHIT FALLS DOWN!"
Of course this is talking about none other than the bombs dropping

"Sun comes up shining bright
Time to close your eyes.."
They have to end their mission before the sun coming up

Well, that's my personal interpretation. I know it isn't the real meaning so don't respond to this with "lolz0rz ur dum its about pratys. ur such a n00b with ur stupid airplnae idea"

In Flames – Black & White Lyrics 18 years ago
I can see how this song can be interpreted as racist by the casual listener, but I agree that it is about a decision or opinion. and how there is "nothing in between" meaning you're either on one side or the other. Black and white is just used as a contrast between the two sides, and has nothing to do with racism. "I am proud to be this far from you" simply means I am proud of my choice, and I believe it is right and I disagree with you. "I leave all that grey behind" means there is no middle ground. Black + White is gray, but there are only two choices. There is no room for two means both opinions cannot exist at once. "You claim that you are innocent,
but tell me who ain't.
You think that you’re going to be saved.
There’s no such thing as a saint." to me means that the other side is being referred to as "bad" or maybe support the wrong thing.

Regardless of this, the chorus starting with "I've come to the conclusion..." still gives me goosebumps whenever I listen to it.

Melodic Death Metal is my favorite metal, and IF rocks the genre.
