Bob Dylan – Mr. Tambourine Man Lyrics 19 years ago
I always thought it was a song both about drugs and the way he felt as a musician. I always thought the tambourine man was probably based on a hallucination he had a lot. Most LSD users have a character that often pops into hallucinations, and the tambourine man was his. Another example would be how Oscar Acosta, the lawyer in Hunter S. Thompson's stories, had "King Zeta." The song itself I always felt was about how he was always chasing Mr. Tambourine Man, and that he himself was never going to attain it.

Another idea I had like this was that Mr. Tambourine Man was never a person so much as an aspiration. It was the way his fans saw him, and the song is about him struggling to keep up with that.

Flogging Molly – What's Left Of The Flag Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm probably biased, by it always seemed like this song was written just for me. My dad was in the PIRA, and he was killed accidentally in a bombing. When I listen to this song, I just get filled with all kinds of emotions, mainly anger towards the fucking black and tans. I'll always remember he used to tell me that he was proud to be fighting, and he would gladly give his life for Ireland, and that I should keep the fight. Well...he did. Just what it means to me.

Modest Mouse – Dramamine Lyrics 19 years ago
while all these are awesome ideas, I've always interpreted it as his reasons for sobriety, which happened about this time. When you use Dramamine, it's okay, but after you've stopped taking it for a while, you'd rather chew your own face off then try it again. Thinking about it that way, I always thought he was using his worst "trip" as a metaphor for him being sick of using in general, much like "The Good Times Are Killing Me"
