I'm pretty new to the Cribs but damn this song just gets me. It's the odd one out sort of song, where a band does a song totally different to what they usually do and they have done it so well here. Amazing. F*cking Amazing |

| love this song, but i checked a couple of sites and they reckon the line "I know a place we could go where you'll fall in love so hard that you wish you were dead" is meant to be "I know a place we could go and I'm falling, love so hard that you wish you were ten" personally i think both a brilliant. I think it's actually "I know a place we can go where you'll fall in love so hard that you wish you were ten" someone help me out, haha, this is gonna bug me! | |

I believe this song is about running away. It reminds me of maybe a guy who's dating a girl who is terminally ill or something like that and her parents won't let him see her... So they run away together just so her last moments can be with him... It almost reminds me of suicide. For my year 10 media we made a movie about 3 suicides and used this song for when they are going through what brings them to commit suicide. i think the chorus "Light up, Light up, As if you have a choice, Even if you cannot hear my voice, I'll be right beside you dear" Kind of reminds me of a friend who is helping another through a hard time but they can't always be there to help them... |

I disagree... He isn't saying "It could be worse" he is saying stop complaining! You know perhaps this isn't to someone with a mental health issue like depression. But either way they could benefit from helping people in a third world country cos you know helping people makes you feel better and takes your mind off your own pain in a most cases. I think he is right though... we all sit here with our gameboys and ipods and all that bullshit when we could be out there helping someone live! This song isn't pathetic it is true. We are depressed because we are stuck in these little cement communities with technology coming out of our ears and if you dont do well in this test you wont get into TEE and you wont go to uni and you'll never amount to anything. There are family issues, social issues every other kind but this is the life we chose. I know people who suffer but they think differently. They say to themselves they aren't gonna let this weaken them they are gonna let it make them stronger. Its all about your outlook and your mindset. |

| So what do people think its about? the first verse kind of reminds me of someone who's mum is really ill and is dying or something along those lines... Anyone care to expand on this theory? | |

| I love mika so far. Especially this song! I just cannot stop listening to it! I have been reading through this thread and some very interesting debates have come out of it... Mostly about his sexuality... The Fred Ataire thing i didn't really get but its an interesting idea. I personally think maybe he hasn't decided his sexuality. He isn't gay or staright or bi... He doesn't know. Just referring back to the line "I've gone identity mad" this has all probably been said but its just my thoughts. I love the chorus of the song. | |
