This has always been my favorite slow song. Oh geez, I don’t know why. It’s very sexual and I appreciate it a lot because I don’t know one song out there that has described feelings regarding sex - and the actual doing so as well.
So - this song is about a boy watching his girl drinking a drink and getting really turned on, but feeling helpless because he can’t really do anything about it. That is until she leads him to her house, locks the door, and they begin to make out…on the floor. As they’re making out, he brings her hips closer to his own (gyrating hips oh boy) and they begin to get naked. He’s enjoying it so much that he closes his own eyes, turning her on. They are beginning to do the dirty dirty and though his penis takes a while longer to get in (perhaps too tight?! first time sex? Bahahaha), they manage. They are one, sweating and breathing. He’s saying they’re making love…she can hate herself for what she is doing (losing virginity?) but he is all in her hands - he wants her forever (?). He’s saying that he won’t say his thoughts aloud and alone. And maybe these thoughts are making someone else ‘hurt’ and he’s saying that person can’t just always blame him for everything. Why not blame it on the southern weather? If they can blame it on anything, why are they blaming him? it’s his final reach to that person to figure out what is bothering them so much. I think. |

I think its about how he should have said something sooner but couldn‘t because he possibly didn‘t know how to? Not even his friends are trying to see things from his point of view - they all believe he’s gone/crazy, but he knows he’s not. This makes him feel different from everyone else, so he’s going to devote himself to showing everyone else wrong. |

wow, i really didn't understand this song when reading over the lyrics. then 'one day will' made me realize that that seems about right. id ont know much about religion but by just going what you're saying seems to have made me understand the meaning behind the words a bit more. =] |

I THINK this is about a couple needing to tell each other their true feelings because they had been holding off for too long. He’s hoping that when it’s all said it will let the girl know even more. I don’t know if this is right. Im not quite sure for what they’re getting ready for either. Maybe to become a couple? That could sound right if what I’m saying is true. Hehe. |

I think this song is about another person acting…fake? Acting like something else because he says “acting like this you know you’ll get the first prize”. Then he is drinking and leaving a message saying that she/he/whoever/whatever is getting out of hand. He writes a note for their book, showing which side is filled with lies. Hes saying to be what they want to be when theyre doing what they do while they just keep getting out of hand. Argh - his lyrics are too amazing to try to put into any other words to help each other understand. |

Im kind of confused by these lyrics. Sure it’s self explanatory but the way he puts it together kind of makes me wonder if there is more beyond the words. Like, who is he asking why they need him to be the boy they need him to be? God? His mother? I don’t know much about religion and it probably has something to do with that (it’s the almost…its aaron…haha). I do know that he is saying I’m lost without you and I need you to God. God helped him see. All together, it is a beautiful song. |

also, i find this song sooo beautiful - unbelievable. Aaron Gillespie makes me want to believe in God - he has so much faith and just makes me want to understand religion even more.

I’m guessing he’s in a confessions booth confessing about his sins - or even praying and asking God questions.. He’s asking God why he is still being forgiving, why he is still a part of his life after all he has done. |

I’m pretty sure this song is about the process of finding your true identity as you’re growing up. He’s saying that it’s the time when you be what you wanna be, but he realizes that its harder than it seemed it would be. Therefore, he begins to just copy other people. Then, he’s saying that it sucks no one will remember what he’s doing - especially because he’s not being himself. He then wants to make other people what him and his group are, he wants to make them worship them because then it’ll make them feel like ‘they’re in love’. He goes on saying that he’s being more fake than he’s ever been - he’s not being true to himself.
I’m not actually sure if this is even right but it seems like it’s along the lines. =] |
