I completely agree with chafulle. I thought this song was self-explanatory, but then I looked at all the posts and apparently there are more than one interpretations which is interesting. Im pretty sure of the meaning, and that's the helpfulness of good friends in times of hardship. they completely sugarcoat everything and tell you everything you want to hear just to make it seem better than it is, therefore helping him get through. I absolutely love this song. I dont quite get the part about coming back to his girl by july, and the spaceman part. if someone could explain that? amazing song. |

ohh my god, what an absolutely beautiful song this is; a favorite of mine from my favorite band. what could be better? I completely relate to this song. regaurdless, I think this is a truly heartfelt piece. "Do what you want, but I know who you are." this line shows us that although she tries to fool herself and others into believing that she's this person, he'll always know her better than all of them and that she's putting on an act. he basically tells her that she may be fooling others, but she's not fooling him. "Go where you want but I know where you'll end up." this again shows the deep connection they have. she may not necessarily be following her heart at the moment and she may be doing what she thinks is right, but he knows that in the end they'll be together. this is such a perfect song. it's absolutely beautiful, and it illustrates the deep level two people can connect on, past the view of others. TOPPP NOTCH. |

this song gives me the chills, everytime I hear it. honestly Copeland has to be a contender for my favorite band of all time. I think this song refers to the wishes a guy has for his exgirlfriend's future. he wants her to be happy, even if its not with him. he knows he isn't right for her, and he knows that he isn't fully devoted, so he decides to leave her on her own search for someone who will be right for her and treat her the way she deserves. the only improvement that could possibly be made to this song is the beginning. it starts off much weaker than it ends, but overall this song is absolutely breathtaking. |
