John Farnham – Beyond The Call Lyrics 18 years ago
John Farnham seems to like songs that have strong but abstract allusions to Jesus Christ and His crucifixion.
Jesus was betrayed with a kiss from Judas, who hung himself. Jesus was, the Bible tells us God incarnate, so He was there from "the beginning" and would have seen Lucifer (Satan) fall from glory at the hand of mercy, which can only refer to God Himself. The Bible tells us that Satan entered Judas to perform his act of supreme betrayal. It is obvious too, that the passage indicates that cover up was Judas' intent as he planned and carried out his act.

It is about there that the allusion ends, or becomes corrupt because if the "first person" that the song is written is is Jesus Himself, He never "searched for anger". The only occasion where He displayed anger was when His indignation was kindled by His Father House being turned into a ":den of thieves". Never did he exercise - or desire to exercise - anger on His own behalf.

Jesus always knows where both darkness and light "wander". It is, however true that He won't wait much longer for the signs of the times indicate his return is close. Many will come in His Name claiming to be Him, but only He will come in the same way as He left, in clouds of glory so that every eye shall see Him.
