| That's a little funny kaleidoscopeeyes8 because I just left home for school in Ohio. I still don't know how I feel about it. | |

| Maroon 5 – Won't Go Home Without You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Why were these lyrics accepted? Not only do I agree with Jayemel but it's obviously a cut AND paste with the obvious hint of it half way through the song. This is such abeautiful song. God, it's such a shame to let it go to waste this way. |

| Maroon 5 – Not Falling Apart Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Something about this song is so pleasant yet disturbing. For the most part I think it's about a relationship gone astray. By astray, I mean that both parties involved got to a point where all they could do was argue-- One that cares too much and someone else who doesn't care enough. He's obviously caring too much in the song. It's not so much that he'll be fine, he'll be okay, but he's trying to convince himself that everything will be alright. He doesn't want to replay that final argument they had because it'll hurt him again. She's left and all he can do is sit and convince himself nothing is wrong, that he's alright, that he's literally, not falling apart. |

| Damien Rice – Rootless Tree Lyrics | 18 years ago |

FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU and all we've been through. I said leave it, leave it, leave it, it's nothing to you. And if you hate me, hate me, hate me, hate me so good that you just let me out let me out, let me out Its hell when you're around. Let me out, let me out, let me out. Its hell when you're around. I fucking love you Damien Rice. No one has ever been able to capture so much raw and fucking emotion. No one. |

| Jenny Lewis – Melt Your Heart Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I don't think it's so much about her experience itself. If anything, I think she's come to understand that everything was not the way she expected it to be. "It's bound to melt your heart / One way or another" Or "Are we killing time? / Are we killing each other?" I think the whole song by admitting that there's another side it could refer to shows her struggle. For example, she thought that sleeping with someone would be lovely, enjoyable, sexually exciting or whatever you might interpret it as. But you can just see yourself, or I do, laying in bed at the ceiling as my partner lays dead asleep... Wandering, thinking, hating myself in the morning knowing that it was an entire mistake. It's about acting and doing and then thinking.. Regretting it. |

| Okkervil River – Maine Island Lovers Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song literally tears me up inside whenever I hear it. I want to cry, tear myself, but I can't help but be taken back to a beautiful place by the slow and consistent sweet melody to this song. My immediate interpretation was that of Will's. Not claiming mine as right but just commenting, I think there's a little more to it. They realize it's going to end and you can hear the ignorance in the song. The fact that actually acknowledging it is painful because it means conceding that you were never good enough. Though both lovers have their own respective spouses to come home to, it's not enough. This line is particularly beautiful when you can hear the anger, betrayed, and pained feeling: "you went white as / a sheet / and wished that nothing /in this world / would ever hurt me. / Well, keep wishing." This reminds me of myself and something I long to yell. "If you really want to love me, well, then do it." |

| Yo La Tengo – I Feel Like Going Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I agree with LosEndos37. This has got to be my favorite track off of their new album and pretty close to my favorite one altogether. And this is my interpretation, roughly but I feel like it's a song about running away from where you are. Running away because you feel like it's not in any way connected to what you really want, it's as if you're lost and you don't know who you are. "I can float above the ceiling / I like drifting through the air / I tend to lose my concentration" So by continuously saying that you "feel like going home" you want to leave that shithole for something more. Some place where you feel like you really belong. That.. Is home. |
