| The Morning Of – Welcome Change, Goodbye Gravity Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think that's "just know we're on your side" from You vs. The World. It's the whispering in the background of that part thats bothering me.....=[ | |

I love how they have the parts of all their other songs incorperated in. It's bothering me so much that I can't figure out what the parts in the background say. I'm wondering if they are all parts of the other songs, since i know that at the beginning you can hear "Let your spirit soar" in the background. And also some of the background whispers sound like theyre just whisper sounds, not even words at all. |

| The Hush Sound – Not Your Concern Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I have the Cd with the lyric book and it says it should be "lost"...but it certainly does sound like "locked". Maybe they wrote the lyricsto say lost, but recorded it differently as "locked"? There are a couple of instances from Goodbye Blues where the lyrics from the book seem to not quite match what it sounds like in the song | |

"and i'm locked in the gardener's gate" should be "and i'm lost in the gardener's gate" I love the parts where Bob sings fast. hehe. I think that this song is about letting go of someone for their own good. The singer thinks that he is wrong for the girl, and that's why he broke up with her. |

| The Hush Sound – That's Okay Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Lyrics corrected: Instead of "Is just powder, white bones" it's "Is just powder-white bones" and instead of "You are boundless And beauty will frighten your face" It's "You are boundless in beauty, with fright in your face" |

| The Hush Sound – Molasses Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| ooo Sorry it's also "Heels to the dirt 'til you make it clear" "Darkness you can hear me" "heart's complaint" "Little darlin' will attract all the bees" "Takes a little vanity to know what it means" (there's no "it" before "takes") and "but tonight, you're given darkness" | |

It's "Take it all or take half", Also it's ""I know it cause you wrote it down a hundred times" (you're missing the first "it", sorry I know it's small I'm just a bit obsessive :] ). And I'm checking the lyrics by the booklet from the cd. To me the part that says "I know it cause you wrote it down a hundred times, but just say that you're doing just fine" sounds like an argument |

| The Hush Sound – My Apologies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think that in this song the guy is sick and dying in a hospital. The girl is visiting him and taking pictures of the life he's missing out on. He's saying that he should have paid more attention to the small things. The guy is apologizing because he's not there for the girl, and for all his friends. It's also possible that the guy has some disease that causes him to forget things, which is why he needs the pictures of his friends and family. This is referred to as "They're prints in a box when my memory stops". But that could just be refering to death. The song is titled "My apologies" because that's what everyone says when someone close to you dies. |

| Incubus – Oil and Water Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Great song I agree with the whole idea of a relationship not working out. Theyve been trying to work it out, but really they just dont work together. Their personalities just don't mix, like Oil and Water. I don't believe there is any more idea to oil and water and what each represents, only that the two don't mix. "Smiling with anchors on my shoulders...been dying to let them go" This represents that he's been pretending everything's fine, living day to day by smiling his way through it all, but really its just too hard, and he wants to let this weight off his shoulders. "Dancing on a volcano" --a metaphor similar to "skating on thin ice" and it reminds me of tiptoeing through something dangerous; theyre on the edge of falling... Anyone have any guesses about the "There is no parasol that can shelter this weather"? |

| Regina Spektor – Chemo Limo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Some people with cancer choose to not take chemo and live for a couple months longer while throwing up and having all the other horrible chemo side effects. These people decide to instead take no medicines and live out the last month or so of their life to it's fullest. I think that is what "Chemo Limo" is about. When she sings "And besides this shit is making me tired it's making me tired it's making me tired" It almost sounds (at first listen) as if she said "This shit is making me die tonight, it's making me die tonight, making me die tonight" |

| Hope – Bring Me Flowers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's pretty straightforward....The first two lines basically sum everything up. It's a beautiful song; I can listen to this for hours on end, just like all of Hope's other songs. | |
| The Hush Sound – Wine Red Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The word "Gloria" is used in Church hymns because it means Glory in Latin. That's how it relates to the song. | |
| Shelby – Loudon Wainwright Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Hahaha First comment on this song =] Actually the first comment on this artist too...i guess i'm the only one who likes Shelby...and the only reason I like them at all is because we share a name :] Moving forward, Loudon Wainwright is in my opinion Shelby's best song. Once you get used to the guy groaning out some of the words, anyway. The best part is the end, where they just keep repeating "Paging Loudon Wainwright Wainwright now" |

| The Hush Sound – You Are The Moon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
For sheet music, go to http://www.freewebs.com/pianobea/thehushsound.htm and click on You Are The Moon. This song is a metaphor, describing someone deep in depression to the moon. They are rising from the shadows, and the only way they see themselves is in the imperfect broken reflection given by a body of water, not a perfect mirror. The only lines I don't understand are The subtle grace of gravity, The heavy weight of stone Can anybody explain that? |

| The Hush Sound – Wine Red Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Although there are biblical references, the song isn't religious, its just using the references to give depth and meaning. When i first heard the lyrics "Who shot that arrow in your throat? Who missed the crimson apple?" My first thought was of someone standing up with an apple balancing on top of his head, and another person trying to shoot the apple off (but not hurt him) with their bow and arrow. Not very deep, but still. The chorus is just signifying the perfect world (garden) falling apart. "The sea is wine red" is something unusual and scary, "Doves have died" is signifying the peace dove dying, and "lovers have lied" shows something that cannot happen for everything to work out, etc etc. The line "This is the death of beauty" is probably the best in the song. |

| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I know that Hello is actually about Amy Lee's sister, but my friend told me once that this was the continuation to Bring Me to Life. If anybody has seen the music video of Bring Me to Life, it ends when she jumps off a building. I thought for a while that this song takes place almost right after, and Amy Lee had fallen onto a schoolground playground. She's trying to lie to herself and say that she's okay, when she is really dying from the fall. All the kids on the playground are not near her, and as the bell rings they go inside without even noticing that someone has fallen into their playground. It's interesting to see how all the lyrics work this way, and its what i think of whenever i hear the song. | |
| Evanescence – All That I'm Living For Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think that this song is about a relationship Amy had that went bad. She isn't sure how to forget the relationship - it's over, but she can't stop thinking about it (all that i can't ignore alone at night). She isn't sure if she should still love the guy, and she is wondering if she should let it go and lock the last open door between her and her past, but while she doesnt she keeps remembering more and he keeps coming back (should i feel like i do? Should i lock the last open door My ghosts are gaining on me) The song also keeps with a theme of the album, as in a bunch of songs Amy mentions "losing herself" by separating parts of herself (in Lithium it says that she loses herself without her sorrow). In this song Amy says "If only i knew how to pull myself apart" as in keep the good feelings but throw away all feelings for him and also "So I'll find myself/so i won't be lost again" |
