My thought about "that's when the hornet stung me" is that either he realizes he's in love with the girl (or boy i guess), or real life "stings" him, and he wants to "smoke them out"- "them" could be his feelings, or his realizations. This song seems to be sort of a coming-of-age story for sure |

the first time i heard this song was when i borrowed you forgot it in people from my sister, in grade 10, and i loved the whole album but i cried and cried during this song. its meaningful in so many different ways, and it makes me feeeeeel so much. I am sure it is one of the most beautiful things i've heard. and being in highschool, it reminds me to be myself all the time.
I love when emily haines is just repeating
