Not only is this song not by Something Corporate, its not even Jacks Mannequin. Andrew sings on the song, but it's from the Tommyland cd by Tommy Lee. |

I love Something Corporate. North is composed of a perfect combination of Josh's songs and Andrew's songs. This song is definitely on my top three list off the album. |

He wrote this song because he felt like songs these days were lacking in real sexual desire. He was inspired by an old lady on an airplane who he talked to and she convinced him to get the balls to write this song. |

I really don't like this song. It doesn't fit in on the new record and its space could've been used better had Doris Day or Hey Hey Hey been included instead. I'm one of Andrew's biggest fans, but I know a filler song when I hear one. |

| Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics

Andrew likes to connect a lot of his music with reoccurring themes and ideas. I have always kind of viewed Dark Blue as the Part II to a three part story.
I remember an interview where Andrew said he wrote Dark Blue as a response to the song She Paints Me Blue. He he was living in a small room where the only light in the room was a soft 40 watt dark blue light bulb.
I always kind of imagined that Swim was the part III to the story. Not only is there a blue color theme in all of three the songs, all three also deal with the idea of water as a struggle or obstacle. So we can imagine they all are kind of telling one story.
So it's like Pt.I She Paints Me Blue, Pt. II Dark Blue and Pt. III Swim. |

Im beginning to notice a theme in this new jacks mannequin music. i know Andrew has said in interviews that the name annie from annie use your telescope is a version of his wifes middle name. Well now we get this song called diane, which also incorporates the name "anne" in it. I think its probably about his wife again. |

And then the water reached the west coast

And it was me and you

And here was nothing we could do

I think vocally for Taylor this is his best song. I'm listening to it right now, and for the third time today. The girl is his life. She makes him free. I love these words. |

The melody and lyrics of this song are beyond superior. I was so excited to hear that SoCo was playing this again on the last tour. I hope that if they ever do decide to get back together and do a new record, that they will rerecord Caldecott Tunnel. This song is one of the many reasons that Something Corporate is my favorite band and has been for so many years. |

One of the three best songs off of North in my opinion. Josh did an excellent job writing this. I think it's about a relationship gone wrong and he's trying to make amends.
I'm listening to it right now, and it just gives me chills. |

"She said planes made her feel like she could get away."
My favorite lyric written by Andrew. I love how he tends to incorporate the sky, stars, space and celestial beings into his writing. He is a lot smarter than most people give him credit for and I just love his vocabulary. It's always interesting to listen to him talk or to read his blogs. |

I assume Andrew wrote this one? I'm not entirely sure, but the line "I feel more like a creep" sounds like something Andrew would write because in Airports, he refers to himself as a creep as well. But I dont know. One of my top twenty favorite Something Corporate songs definetely. |

This isnt a Something Corporate song. It was released in 1999 on Andrew's solo cd ("Andrew McMahon") that had the first recordings of this song, Airports, Babies of the Eighties, and Drunk Girl.
Either way, it's a wonderfully inspiring song. |

The song just doesnt have any depth; its lyrics are very mediocre and the music it sub-par. I am the worlds biggest Something Corporate fan, and I'm aware that Andrew is the only member of SoCo who had anything to do with this song. If it werent for the catchy chorus and Andrew's voice, I dont think I would give this song a second glance. |

This is the most played song on my iPod with over 175 plays. It's my favorite song off of North.
The song is obviously about a long distance relationship and it goes to show that these relationships are hard to keep going. |

This is the last official song that Something Corporate released. I think it's one of their better covers. Don't get me wrong, everything they do is brilliant, but they really did this song justice. No one could've covered it better than SoCo. |

| Imogen Heap – Hide and Seek Lyrics

I dont think this song has anything to do with a relationship or break-up or anything of the sort. My friend brought up a good point that this song could very well be about the war. If you really take a good look, you can see where we are coming from.
"Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
(Oh you won't catch me around here)
Blood and tears
They were here first"
Just think about it. |

This song is perfect. Caldecott Tunnel is one of the most lyrically flawless songs to ever have been written, but I guess since no one is being metaphorically compared to a butterfly, it will never get the attention it deserves. |
