okay, almost everyone here has been talking about how this is about bashing music critics, and saying they won't ever be 'sellouts', and i agree. but i feel like a lot of you didnt really pay attention to splitends with they commented with an excerpt from AP. if you pay attention to that article and to the lyrics, they're making complaining about, and in some ways mocking the indie, chicago and mainstream music scenes. talking about how you only get one chance to break out, and then you're screwed because you don't sound just like the expected you to. The academy is aren't just trend followers and fan mongerers like hiro and all those other scene-haters would like to think. they're a supercool band with amazing talent. |
