i think this song covers all these meanings, theres some awsome interpretations there! my first intention was that it was a kind of peyote driven spiritual zen kind of feeling, that doesn't make much sence, but kind of how we always look into things in a very complex way saying, 'this comes from another world' or something, it may well do that and dam sounds like it does, but i think in finding truth is finding the simplest tools and course of action, hence the bucket and mop, we talk about god being 'out there' or watching us but maybe god is not the creator but creation itself, and once someone named this oness this name and it became kind of seperate, where as it is all so simple we constantly overlook it, i do anyway, i said peyote cause in the booklet it said it was a peyote driven album so i think they were taking it at the time, it deffinately sounds like they were, i think this music is so simple and unforced that it came out sounding like it was from another world! and gives that spiritual nostalgic feel like how you felt before you could remember, im talking about the whole meatpupets album, nirvana is good to, i think kurt had loads of respect for these guys and even aspired to be like them, but just my opinion, i think his later songs started picking up a little more of this feel kind of. |

this is an awsome song and the meat puppets are my favorite band! i dont like having favorites but the meat puppets take me straight back to my innocent childhood quistioning of life and space and all that. remember when you were young and you had all these questions and you were facinated by the universe and space and would ask the older teenagers all about it? well this is what i always did, i still do but in a much different way, the meat puppets takes me to this fascinated state of mind and its awsome, so many cool feelings. I think this is exactly what they were doing just putting it into songs, and taking some mushrooms, or peyote as it says in the booklet. i think this music is the most perfect imperfect music ever! it is so mystical and the lyrics are also! the last four lines, i cant see, the end of me, formulate infinity, store it deep inside me, they are so perfect and are exactly what brings this sense of awe to me when i really think in this way. we all seem to be so used to this reallity and being human, but have you ever just sad back and wondered why, why, WHY? or how, how, HOW? this is? Why is anything? why are you just sitting there reading this, how is this happening, why is anything? thats what this music makes me feel and the lyrics are profound! |

This song is Awsome, and the lyrics are very profound in some areas. daniel has gotten so good at song writting its not funny. i used to like his early stuff but now i think it is a little more cheezy. this stuff is SO real and from the heart, he is putting a lot of love into it. i myself feel like i relate to a lot of these lyrics. when i say profound i mean he is writting in a zen like way, i read a lot about buddhism and think about life a lot and it seems he is doing exactly the same, but at the same time learning to let go. anyway, i love the line, those leaving words, hang strong from an emptiness, in buddhism they talk about how everything is empty, only mind, you can not label anything, but you can, who is? type stuff. when im paranoid i see walls, this explains itself, when you are paranoid you try to express yourself but feel like you just keep running into invisible walls that are impossible to get through or past, life is a struggle and you suffer. when im over joyed i see falls, when you feel good you flow like a waterfall straight easily over the walls. dont really get the next bit but it doesnt need to make sense. to me, god is in the kitchen faking baby dangers means maybe, when we are kids we are filled with warnings of dangers that are not real, kids should be controlled but not obsessively, they need to learn for themselves. to me the last bit, lonly in life etc, is also profound, we are all alone in a sense, this is not a good or bad thing, dead or alive? what are we? they are just words, you just have your mind to work out, and what and were is that mind, i dont know, you might say in your head, but they where is that part that claims it knows it is in your head, anyway, i dont know, i just think about it, and this is how i relate to these lyrics. i like to try and sound wise, but i am not, but i think daniel is a guiniess, and also if anyone can contact him, tell him he must make this song and waiting all day into filmclips, the world needs to hear them. hope this helps some people. |
