This song is beautiful in its own terms and applicable to a number of life events. I can't remember exact details, but I remember reading somewhere along the lines of this: The lead singer of Semisonic, Dan Wilson, and his wife had a child. The child had health problems or something to that effect, and he penned this out of love and helplessness lest the baby not make it. I could be remembering wrong, but regardless, this song is absolutely beautiful. |
