Are you kidding me? No comments on this yet? This song is incredible, and it hits you like a freight train.
It is clearly about Nervosa's defiance of God, and her greed to go where she doesn't belong.
Buy both albums. Sit back and listen, read the stories. This is truly what a concept album should be. |

I don't think the song lets down at "peace, shalom" at all.
I'm clearly seeing this song as Rivers' statement that he's finally at real peace with who he is, after all of the "identity" struggles he's had. The fact that it closes the album makes just as strong a case as the lyrics and music as well. I think he could end it all after this and know that he's finally found the meaning he's been looking for in his life, and be happy by that.
PS: The guitar in "I'm flying - We are the Angels" really reminds me of Sunny Day Real Estate. |

Welcome back to 1994 everyone!!
Just another groundbreaking effort from Weezer; insanely catchy, different from anyone else's sound, and the video is exactly what we all needed right now. |

This song is a perfect opener to the new album. It sets the tone for Rivers' confidence (like fpoppg said), and has one of the most fun beats I've heard in a long time. |

It's a very good song, and from what I read, Rivers had to fight to get this one to stay on the album, I'm glad he did. Not the best track on Red Album, but by far not the worst.

It's a rock-out love anthem for his girl. Not much more to it, as far as meanings go, but musically...WOW! This is one of my favorites, and it sounds REALLY GOOD cranked way up! |

Awesome song. VR is leading the fight to bring back REAL rock n' roll, and Scott sounds very clear on this one.
2:00-2:55 is somewhat STPish, but then again, it's obviously got more to it. |

I've heard more reports of this being about a divorce, or somebody leaving for the military. Either way, the song sounds pretty good, and the new album is amazing! |

I've always seen it the way Tack-o-rama does. It's simlpy about giving absolutely everything in a relationship. He has given his heart, soul, and as the protaginist sees it, his entire existence to her. The relationship fails, and he has hit rock bottom. He spends his days alone in his dark room, sinking further into depression, and as we reach the song's ending, he has realized that there is nothing left for him, and he's decided to commit suicide.
SDRE paints an all-to-real picture of what sometimes occurs in our society. A friend of mine killed himself after his longtime girlfriend dumped him. R.I.P. Eric. 1985-2007 |

This song has to be one of the most incredible I have ever heard, period. It evoked a feeling of sadness and a feeling of joy for me. Some interpret this song as being about a nuke going off, or about the effects of global warming, but what I see as a whole, is more the effect of the end of all things. It does surely draw comparison with nuclear warfare. But again, the Bible talks about nuclear bombs going off near the end anyways. It hits very hard with the notion of a person watching it all go down, and knowing that it is truley time to die. He is watching, and though terrified, also has a sense of inner peace. That's my take.
As far as global warming goes, I'm not here to argue whether it's real or not, because it's beyond the point of caring whether it is or not for me. I'm sure that we'll all die of war and the Rapture, long before climate changes ever get the best of us. |

I second that opinion, and add that I think that he's very upset with the whole situation, and feels like giving up. Thats what I think.
Awesome song either way. Packs a good punch. |

I'm getting a vibe that it could also tie into being about somebody that thinks very highly of themself. To the point that they are going insane with it. I like the line:
Climb up your pedestal

I noticed that evolutionary theme as well. Which seems more interesting to me because I'd bet that Pete doesn't believe in evolution.
Surely one of my favorites from Vena Sera at this point. |

I would say they sound a little heavier now, but not too much. This song sounds different at first, then sounds like them a little more, but still leaves a different taste. I can't quite put my finger on it... |
