Modest mouse have changed, that's for sure. Change isn't always bad, but in this case it really blows bad. The whole thing with modest mouse back in the day were the heartfelt lyrics and just an overwhelming sense of emotion in their songs. I do realize bands can't be repetitive album after album. I'm also sure that they've picked up plenty of newer fans. For some of the more veteran MM fans though, I'm sure this is a huge dissapointment, and if not, it should be. I'll give some credit to Isaac and the guys for still being able to write catchy tunes though. To sum it up I'll say that it has it's catchy parts here and there, mtv-ish sound is definitely there though, and over produced. Has no indie feel to it at all, along with no replay value for me. I've just wrote a fucking review on a site dedicated to song meanings, haha, sorry guys. Got carried away. |

Several ways this one can be interpreted but I think you guys have it covered here. Great song with a catchy as hell chorus, like many of the others on this album. I've read a few reviews saying they've changed in a bad way. I have no idea how anyone could come to that opinion. |
