i thought it was just about lies. Maybe drug induced lies, but when she says: you don't have no doctor robert you don't have no uncle albert you don't even have good credit you can write but you can't edit it's like she's just caught someone in a lie...they don't have an uncle named albert, or a doctor named robert OR even good credit. They have good stories but they can't edit out the falsities. |

| Let's Go Sailing – All I Want From You Is Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
in english the first comment is: Like all of the songs of "Lets Go Sailing", this is so fresh...I love it. I wish this wasn't so short, and that I was not the first to comment. She is so, so beautiful. J'aime J'aime J'aime! |

i really love this song! I like the Asa taccone remix too. yummers. I agree with you, the curious cat. Friend but maybe more? She's kind of afraid to do anything about her maybe feelings. I think looking at the person sideways is kind of like seeing them in a new light, at a new angle and everything else seems to shift too as she considers love with this person and it's like "hm! I could maybe love you!" Ahh I love this song! |

| Damien Rice – Amie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It makes me want my lovely right here with me right now. The entire album does. I love him more than I have anyone else before. Every minute I'm not with him I yearn for the minute when I'll be with him again and then when I see him it's like "ahh yesss. All is right again". | |
| Iron & Wine – Boy with a Coin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about the good things that come out of the bad. For instance, when that car flipped, the boy was left with a coin which could symbolize hope. The girl found a bird, which could symbolize freedom from her constrained life as a "baby-maker" (eyes made for crying at birth) that might be in the future. I think the sound of this song is sort of optimistic and has a sort of "things-will-get-better" kind of ring to it. | |
| Ryan Adams – Political Scientist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
sure it might be about the white stripes, but i think there is such a deeper meaning to this song! I think it's about the backwards and corruption of society. Doesn't it seem odd to supposedly clean water with chemicals? "Somewhere on the edge of town" could suggest how removed governments are from the people they govern. The fact that there are "no guarantees" suggests how leaders might promise something that would make life better for people, but that promise might not come to reality. Twisted and backwards govenmental rule can be what give people troubled lives. |

| Moby – The Sky Is Broken Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this is totally a driving in the rain kind of song. Just you, the road, your car, and the rain. It's so nice. | |
| Copeland – When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song is about standing out when you never thought you would. I think the first verse is imagining a life that stands out and is recognized by people. In the second verse, a boy (i'm assuming) is doing his homework while thinking that there's no emotion in his work and so it's kind of a waste of time when he could be doing other more useful and imaginitive things. "I don’t know what everyone was looking at...I think, I think that it’s me" shows how suprised he is that he's standing out now. I think in the last part, someone who know's the afformentioned boy is talking, and he's like "YEAH! i totally knew you'd be above all the rest one day. I SO told you so." This is such an uplifting song. Totally makes me feel like i can be so much more than what i am. |

| Feist – So Sorry Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| She always drives her man away, and then after she's "so sorry" when she realizes she was the one in the wrong but by then it's too late. She just wants to be with him and have him near to him because she knows that things could be better and there is really no need to end the relationship | |
| Feist – How My Heart Behaves Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"fanning my yellow eye" is correct say the liner notes! Maybe it's to do with being cowardly? When one is a coward they are sometimes said to be "yellow" This is SUCH a gorgeous song. AH. |

| Feist – Brandy Alexander Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i really like this song and how simple the melody is. I think it is about a girl who is terribley addicted to this boy. Her mouth is like sand until she can have a sip of him so to speak. She still loves him even though he gets her into trouble all the time. She also gets him into trouble, but she's happy that he chose her of all to get into trouble with. She's sort of addicted to him, and he to her, the way one might be addicted to brandy the drink, or any alcoholic beverage for that matter. |

He's lost his love and now he's waiting for something like "a signal or a sound" to let him know where she is. excellent chorus. sheesh! His voice is so great. |

| Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror Lyrics | 18 years ago |

If you want to change the world, you have to start with yourself if you want others to follow suit! If you want more love, you have to love more! I LOVE the choir in the end. HOLY COW, shivers! |

| Télépopmusik – Close Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| she feels like this person she's with doesn't love her any more and that certain spark is gone, and she wonders what she did wrong for him to grow distant like this. SHe's wondering if unchangeable qualities of her personality are driving her lover away. Even though it seems like her lover doesn't love her any more, she still clings to the hope that maybe one day he'll come back and come get her and she will wait no matter what the cost. I think that is sort of ignorant on her part because if he doesn't love her now, what's to say that could change that later on down the road? The youthful sound of her voice could suggest a sort of naivity and that she needs to grow up a little bit and realize that there will be others her way. | |
| Bloc Party – Compliments Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
so chill. It's about sitting around on your ass all day saying you're going to do something productive but actually don't and nothing ever gets done and so you waste away to. It makes me realize that I'm only going to be 19 for a year, and then I'll be 20...and soon i'll be 47 and by then i'll wish i had done something more with myself than waste time and skills and such, but it'll be too late to go back and start over becasue i'll be too old. |

| Moby – Find My Baby Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think he's saying that he's going to find his baby before the night falls. How the heck do you lose a baby anyway? sure they're tiny and all, but they're also very loud. | |
| Sunset Rubdown – The Empty Threats of Little Lord Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the persona is trapped in a relationship and he hates it but he' trapped in it, but he's had enough "i'm not that kind of whore", and to end it would mean hurting the other person, but it would only be in self-defense because the other person such a jerk to the persona. However, even though he threatens to leave, the threats are empty and he's stuck. | |
| Mika – Love Today Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| The London Apartments – Streetlights Are Soldiers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Those lyrics are not totally correct. This is what it should be: i scrape the pavement with my feet i can move so slow streetlights are soldiers streetlights are soldiers i take my time when you're around I stepped into the street streetlights are soldiers streetlights are soldiers streetlights are soldiers streetlights are soldiers i get too scared on my own if i want to change i won't stay the same don't want to move off these streets i had the way out so plotted I think this song is wonderful. It's totally the kind of song that you drive to in the night where there's no one around except the streetlights that protect you and guide the way. Ahh love it. |
