i agree with rand0m and it would make sense to call Saosin his "Great Golden Baby" that he could never be with pretty ingenious and this song was created before Eternal Sunshine came out so thats why you find no coordination between the movie and this song |

ha that wasnt the reason he left Saosin and the whole album has stuff connected with Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind "the operation..." is obviously the erasure of memory for both Joel and Clementine i believe the "dont stop talking to me..." is when they are both on the train talking together and to go back why Anthony left Saosin He went back to Philly to get his wisdom teeth pulled while he was there he started jamming with Colin They talked about him quitting Saosin seriously just as a joke But anthony took it to thought and quit and Circa Survive was born the next day with the song " "Handshakes at Sunrise" it had nothing to do with his drug use that he did go to rehab for while he was with Saosin and CS |

Its still a song about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. "Lost in haunting thought..." is when Joel is trying to figure out why Clementine erased him "your face is light and cocaine white" is a reference to clementines face "i've been erased from the picture excuse, oh no anything goes excuses, you know it doesn't work excuse, oh no anything goes excuses don't work excuse me this will calls out desperate excuse me this will calls out desperate" This is about when Joel and Clementine are in his car and they hear Clementine's "resaon for erasure of memory" |

first of all i must say he uses the same lyrics as Anthony but he added the "just keep asking me" part Anthony had a gf who he called "child" often as a nickname. this song is obviously was for her to see he still wanted her but couldnt because of stuff in his life this was the last song he wrote before he left Saosin so it could also be a message to them as well saying its not meant to be |
