this song came on out of 7,000 tracks on my boys computer, exactly when i was crying about him moving away, i begged him to stay with me, but he said he needed to find a place where he belonged... and it wasnt here, even if he loved me. when i cried the song played"sleep, dont weep, my sweet love" if on cue, it came on... this song, is just beautiful, every time i hear it i cry. all of damien rice's songs are totally unique and not the typical mainstream crap, they are REAL peices of music. |

this song means everything to me.. its been the soundtrack to my past few months, and each stanza, each line, holds a story about what i went through. so no, i dont see it how all of you others have, i see it in a different light. perhaps it isabout two people that are in love, and have to let go. its just a story, about their love and its ups and downs, they thought they might have been better off alone, so they tried to leave eachother, never really being honest about how the felt, and they realize, now that they are away from eachother, that they were perfect for eachother. "you are nothing without her" for me, i was the sick girl, and he was the boy who looked after me, i was the "mess after 3 or 4", and he was the one who helped me get to my favorite place... he is leaving, ""the summer came, and we got lost..." he was always on my mind but i never spoke the name, now he is "in my blood" and now i cant "stay over him" he is leaving forever in 6 days, and now "im tasting nothing but four words, please dont leave me" Who knows what this song truely means, or any song for that matter, all we can know is what it means to us, individualy. And i know this song means the world to me, and I wont forget the person that it reminds me of. even if this seems irrelevant, i had to post it, for personal reasons. |

hmm id have to say there is a load of truth in this song. and a lot of narrowminded bullshit. people who arent actually living in america have no right to judge it. When I was in USA i met lots of really nice people and generally had a very positive experience. so basicly, this song is a bit wack. |
