| Jamie T – Calm Down Dearest Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i reckon and have partly been verified on the fact that its about a night out in london as said above by i.am.a.horror. the only thing is its the first verse is the night out and the second is a commentary on it by him...saying like "who the fuck are you?" which you might shout out when your drunk and angry and then "who the fuck are we?, just the boys in this city" is like saying yeah we're just boys from this city no different. the song is a lot about lout behaviour and a kinda warning to calm down with cocaine use "racking up and stacking them lines" and against the violent behaviour how he just sulks in the corner when he gets angry drunk obviously instead of being violent. then whoever is telling them to to calm down in the chorus (i imagine a mother figure) is rerplied to when he says "we're here now, we will be gone soon" (as in youth dying and using time while they can) then that they won't kill themselves doing drugs and drinking but asking the person to understand that they're young and, like baby birds trying to leave the nest, don't understand that they can't fly yet (they're not ready entirely for the real world but can't accept that). well thats my interpretation of the song anyway. ace song though! | |
