To me it shows a destructive relationship. I mean... this is just not positive. The chorus, maybe; but you can't overlook the verses. "All used and beaten up..." "The farther I fall... as lost as I get... the deeper the wound..." "All that we were is gone... when all our hope is gone..." I see a really destructive relationship, in which both parties are being ripped apart by staying together, but they can't stay apart either. And it's to the point where they don't care anymore. They know it's hurting them both, but they don't give a fuck about how hurt they actually get. The whole "nothing can stop them now" thing comes into play; it's like saying "fuck it" to the world and just letting yourself fall and laughing while you go down and enjoying the pain, just accepting it. Least that's what I see anyway. |

This song is about the raw, natural aspect of sex. When people have sex, especially the ones in this song, they are stripped to their skin, vulnerable and open and in mutual complete submission with the other person(s). In this song, there's a guy who is broken and fucked up, but when he has sex with this one particular person, it all goes away. It's unadulterated and raw and rough and savage and can let him escape every material thing, every concrete worry, everything that's bringing him down in reality. It's emphasized by the third 'verse'... the forest, trees... that's nature. Nature is raw and unfettered by human worry and hate and pain. Natural, just like sex. |
