| Nina Kinert – Combat Lover Lyrics | 17 years ago |

hey there - normally i hate lyrics-correction comments, but since you apparantly have this bit you don't quite understand, i thought i'd help out. first of all, it's definitely "you'RE making my heart spin" (--english grammer :P) and about the part with the question marks: i always hear "be careful, don't be so vicious with me, my love can also be a killer machine". hope that makes sense.. cheers! i love this song, by the way. |

| Cansei de Ser Sexy – Rat is Dead (Rage) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Editors – Feel Good Inc. (Gorillaz cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Kings of Convenience – I'd Rather Dance With You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| actually, i believe the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. but hey, who needs a deeper meaning if it's just so incredibly beautiful? this song blows me out of the water. | |
| The Whitest Boy Alive – Inflation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| love love love the bassline. | |
| Babyshambles – Baddie's Boogie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| best chorus ever. "permanantly plastered, pissed-up bastard" .... that is some bad-ass alliteration, hehe. | |
| The Thermals – How We Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| somehow, the repetition in this song is what makes it so damn catchy. | |
| The Cure – Pictures of You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

maybe it's about having to watch someone change, and still being in love with whoever they used to be? if someone you're really attached changes a lot, you do go through an experience of loss, even if the person is still physically near you. it would work with the "pictures of you" image (he's only in love with the memories of her, but still needs her -- "the pictures are all i can feel"), or the "remembering you, how you used to be" or "crying for the dearth of your heart". |

| Modest Mouse – Satin in a Coffin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
does anyone else think that gnfpwlbn in general deals really extensively with the subject of "death vs. life" and god? i'd almost call it a concept album, somehow. lines like "if god takes life he's an indian giver" (-bukowski), "for your sake i hope heaven hell really exist, but i wouldn't hold my breath" (-ocean breathes salty) or the insistant "please! bury me with it!", and titles like "dig your grave" or "satin in a coffin" kind of point in that direction... |

| Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
thank you, flashoftheblade1975. i wonder how she sleeps when "the rest of us" cry (because after all, we do nothing but sob). also, i wonder how many homeless people she takes into her arms, because i'm sure she ain't doing too badly financially either. i mean, her talking about minimum wage and bombed houses is silly. i bet that house-with-pool-and-huge-baclyard snob doesn't even know first-hand what fucking poverty is. i mean, i really think bush is an awful president and all that, but this is just ridiculous. and also.. "you don't know nothing about hard work"??? for heaven's sake, i'd like to see her run a country. |

| Muse – Map of the Problematique Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song has "unrequited love" written all over it in beautiful handwriting... "desolation and despair" is a pretty perfect description of the state of mind one is in when in love with someone who doesn't feel the same way. "i refuse to let you go" probably refers to that inkling of hope everyone has when they're in love, i guess.. being in a state of denial sort of. "i can't get it right/get it right/since i met you" trying to impress her, but not succeeding? "i want to touch the other side" means, he wants her to feel the same way, so he wants to "touch her" the way she touches/moves him. yeah and obviously "when will this loneliness be over?" is the most explicit description of the situation. waiting for the feelings to go away, to get over it. |

| The Killers – Read My Mind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| could "the green light" be a reference to the great gatsby? after all, great gatsby is about the pursuit of happiness, and the green light at the end of daisy's dock is like the main symbol for unreachable dreams.. so if he says "I got the green light / I got a little fight / I'm gonna turn this thing around" that could mean he has what he wants.. | |
