my take on it is that this whole being scared business is: they have a past, as above people were saying which i agree with totally. but the person who is "scared" is the one the singer was with previously, and now that person is in another relationship. she's moved on, but not ACTUALLY moved on. she's with someone else, but still wants to be with the singer, and he knows it. that's why "i know you're still there because you're scared you'll lose everything" it's hard to break out of a relationship, especially to be with an ex which makes it even harder, and would create a ton of fear. how many people do you know who are in relationships out of fear of breaking up, or being alone, or some other "fear" reason. he's basically saying, don't worry about it, i'll be here waiting when you come back, and that he' still fully there for her. |
