The true meaning of this song is inspired by the use of peyote and trying to figure out the meaning of life from a native american stand point. Most of these lyrics are from the hallucinations he experienced while on Peyote or LSD (probably both) while wandering in the desert. For those who are EXPERIENCED with psychedelics i recommend experimenting with N,N-DMT for it is quite a ride of euphoric bliss. 2 days ago was my first DMT experience. To say the least, i felt as if i was overlapping realities, i was lost within a jungle. As Far as this song goes, its about smoking DMT and afterward dropping acid. |

First of all pot isn't addictive it is actually one of the most beneficial recreational herbs there are. 2ndly, the song is about the discrimination of bud and how people are ignorant and only listen to the media, ozzy was never really that great of a songwriter so he put it in ozzy language! :D | |

Very deep song. Basically means using LSD to pry open his third eye to the spirit world. It has little do with drugs, more so with the Spirit Realm, but it's centered around using LSD once, and using that experience to connect himself with the an undiscovered realm, hence, "Prying open my third eye". "Like phosphorescent desert buttons Singing one familiar song..." Can also mean the use of peyote, an extremely potent hallucinogen, probably the most intense thus far known. "Shrouding all the ground around me Is this holy crow above me Black as holes within a memory And blue as our new second sun I stick my hand into his shadow To pull the pieces from the sand Which I attempt to reassemble To see just who I might have been I do not recognize the vessel, But the eyes seem so familiar Like phosphorescent desert buttons" That whole Stanza basically meaning using LSD once, and years later try to bridge a gap between his own consciousness. Brilliant song, really. |
