| Does anyone know the origin of/meaning behind this song. There are so few lyrics yet it is quite a substantial song. When she whispers underneath the water at the end it seems as if it must be about someone who died. | |

Did anyone hear Radio four the other night when a young boy rang in to say he thought the lyrics were "WHAT'S THAT COMING OVER THE HILL? IS IT MY MUM SIR?" Now we always sing those lyrics because they are just so much funnier. |

The first time I heard this song I just felt like crying because it is so emotive. Her voice sounds so innocent but so sad. I immediately felt that it was about a lover who had died. "Where you'd B". They talk about what "I'd" do or "we'd do" not "I will" or "we will". Like it will never be. When you are separated from someone you love the lines "I pray that something picks me up and sets me down in your warm arms" is so powerful. That feeling of desperation to be with that other person is so strongly communicated. It would definitely be one of my desert Island discs! |
