I disagree with the virginity theory, mainly because I've never met a guy who ever regretted losing their virginity. I think this song is about the dissapointment of relationships and having trouble making the decision to break up. "Seem too close to be losin' touch By givin' in, what am I givin' up Am I losin' way too much" This sounds like he's wrestling with his emotions and scared that the grass really isn't greener on the other side. The reference to California Waiting might be that he has the oportunity to go there for something better but it would mean the end of the relationship. "Can't I get back my lonely life" sounds like an ironic statement about wanting to be single again. Anyway, just my thoughts, could be completely wrong |
